Her head is resting on my chest again, blurring the line of our unspoken rule. No touching while in bed, yet she does it every night - I have no idea if she knows she gravitates towards me in her sleep, but I don’t complain, I won’t ever complain.
I usually wake before her, watch her red unruly hair find its way to her mouth, her lips puckered and sweet. She rolls off my chest, her head finding her pillow. Her eyelids flutter as she wakes, the slow blinks fading to a blurry gaze as she gives me a sleepy smile.
“Mornin’”, she croaks.
I love her in the morning.
