“I gotta tell you, I don’t even think it’s physically possible for me to ever get tired of Daza family cooking,” Mona commented, stretching out to lay down across the couch in his backyard, her legs thrown over Fabian’s. “Like would you believe me if I told you that I have never eaten anything cooked by my father? I have no idea what the Mason’s are good at making, but here you guys are surprising me constantly.” 

Knowing that she was still on very thin ice with with Fabian, Mona didn’t want to push anything by being to forward. Because of that, she waited until she was absolutely certain that he maybe wanted to see her before making the suggestion. Gathering up the two kitties that were currently at her place, she held Toulouse to her chest and placed Duchess in her bag to make the journey up the stairs. Knocking three times once she got there, the blonde rocked back and forth on her heels as she waited to be let inside.

Grabbing the oreos that had already been sitting around from the last time her boyfriend was over, Mona only took her phone with her on the trip up the stairs. Knocking twice, she turned the knob to let herself into his apartment and quickly made her way to the room where she could hear Fatal Vows already starting up. “Hey, baby!” Mona called out, launching herself onto the bed and into her usual spot. Leaning over, she gave him a quick kiss on his cheek. “Have I missed anything?”

Mona: let me live vicariously through you by you telling me about your day

The date had been marked on the calendar in her phone from the moment she’d first learned it and the fact that it was already there was crazy. Back then, she’d never guessed that Fabian would become as important a part of her life as he was, but the past year had thrown a lot of curveballs her way - at least having her boyfriend in her life was a positive one. She’d set an alarm for 7am hoping that it’d be early enough for her to wake up, get dressed, and arrive at his place early enough for him to hopefully still be in bed. She had their entire morning and afternoon planned out, deciding that maybe it’d be best to leave him with the night free to do things with other people. After showering and putting on makeup, Mona made sure to grab everything she’d need for the day out, including the gifts she’d gotten for him. The process of driving to the coffee shop and back was uneventful and she made it back to the complex by 7:56 only to be met by his locked door. Realizing that she obviously didn’t think things through, Mona debated whether she should just knock and risk waking his roommates or blow her own surprise and just let him know she was there. Quickly typing a text as she balanced the bags and coffee in her hands, Mona leaned against the wall beside his door as she hit send. badgirlriri i’m outside, come open your door please xx

If anyone were to ask, Mona wouldn’t even have an actual answer to the question of when she and Fabian became close. It just sort of happened organically, but she knew better than to question it. Whenever questioning happened, it seemed to always lead to problems. His apartment had recently turned into a place of solace for her and lately she’d just been inviting herself over whenever she felt like she couldn’t be alone. The tv was on and some overly dramatic teen show was playing as she stared blankly at the screen despite not really being invested in what was going on with the character at all. “Dude, this entire show is ridiculous. No one can be your bully one day and then suddenly the next you’re best friends,” she complained, becoming confused only after a few seconds with no response. “Fab? Fabian?” She called before eventually tearing her eyes away from the screen to see what was going on. He looked so peaceful when he slept and she couldn’t resist pulling out her phone and snapping a quick photo of him. For a moment, she debated leaving. Obviously, he needed some rest and she didn’t want to intrude on that. Still, she was kind of selfish, so instead she just curled up farther into him and rested her head in his lap.

The original invite she’d received to go over to Fabian’s parents house was so loosely structured that Mona hadn’t even taken it seriously at first. They were just jokes over snapchat and she hadn’t actually anticipated ever receiving that text of the address, but once it came through Mona couldn’t even contain her excitement. That was hours before and now she sat in the comfort of his parents’ backyard, huskies on each side of her and she truly felt content. “I think that this is actually the closest thing to paradise that Nashville has to offer,” she declared, grinning as she took another drink from her glass.
