but when it comes to Joey Vs Daylyt, i still like Daylyt's vocal performance on WRD2MIMVA (god, these titles). it sounds more interesting the way he switches things up. His intros are undefeatable and I like the ad libs too.

So first things first: take this whole post with a large grain of salt. I'm as uncultured as it gets when it comes to hiphop. Please go to other creators for their hiphop opinions. Im basically the drunk person in the club who rants about stuff she doesn't understand. If you listen to me its on you.

Soooo there was a rap scuffle last week. a lot of people participated and fun was had. the most important players were Ray Vaughn and Daylyt on one side and Joey Bada$$ on the other. The scuffle is over for now and the votes are in and everyone seems to agree that Joey won the fight. And i guess thats correct but here's my problem: i think crash dummy is not good. It's a bit... mid? as the kids say. It has a good hook, it has a good beat but during the verses i always have the feeling that Joey and the beat aren't friends. Joey raps fast but he doesn't rap with precision. he slurs words a bit to keep pace. It just doesnt sound good to my ears. He had some really good bars though He manages to destroy the Diddy angle (I'V ALSO SEEN TOP THERE!!), finds an interesting way to put Ray down (the whole this rap beef is to put you on... something i doubt is true but points for creativity) and destroys the whole horror angle from daylyt with a single line: This ain't a fair fight, it’s a fucking slaughter. Why you keep bringing up pregnant women, don't you got a daughter? Which was really dope. And of course flipping "crash dummy" so that it makes Ray look dumb and stupid instead of tough was a good move. I'm not sure if the angle of "all the good rappers die on the west coast" angle was necessary and actually counters Rays point that Joey doesn't take enough care of his label. But it got the west coast spooked and i wonder a little bit if this was the reason why Daylyt and Ray stopped immeditatly after this. Cause imo they weren't beaten - especially Daylyt was still a strong contender before he threw in the towel. So from this standpoint Joey has won, okay. But he wasnt the funniest (Ray), he didn't have the most interesting narrative (Daylyt the bodyguard monster of the west coast who had a flash back and a whole anime villain monologue at the end) he didn't have the hardest attack (that goes to Ray: Before the spice was Tekashi and where was you at? (Where was you at?) Troy Ave entered the chat, nigga, where was you at? (Where was you at?) You wasn't tryna save New York and put that shit on your back It took a California nigga just to get you to rap) and i still have the feeling that the beat and the hook carried him to victory. I just don't like the song, okay - i prefer Ayo, golden eye hoe era and wrd2mimua

I will have to re-listen to Daylyt’s previous disses but to me it sounds like a new type of sound compared to the previous two disses from like .... months back when Joey first kicked things off (and then disappeared).

I think heard in an interview that Daylyt produces his own beats but either way, whoever did the beat, it goes hard. The base beat is kind of a loop of building tension and then releasing it with more of a bounce-y beat but it gets mixed up with drums that change up from section to section to give support to what Daylyt is saying. You definitely should have your headphones in for listening to this, you gotta feel the drum kicks in your chest.
