Diwali Vacation bag packing started ? If Yes, then checkout 30 important things to keep in mind.
Is this how you feel while packing. If yes, then don't worry. This is because you want to have all things packed before you set off for your vacation and are in a fear that you must have definitely forgotten something. This problem wouldn't exist if you had a perfect check list ready before you start packing.
Well this quote is pretty true! But if you travel very light, you might end up in problems. People are always excited about travelling, and in the same excitement they tend to forget many things (Have you forgotten anything in your earlier vacations? Do share your stories with us in the comment box). Most important of them is 'your luggage'. Which you wouldn't pack it well and miss many things that can come in handy.
This post over here is all about to help you to make a perfect check-list for your vacation, so that you don't miss out on anything.
Ever wondered why you tend to forget one or the other thing while you are on a vacation, despite being very careful? Well it's human tendency to err and no one is perfect. But here is a perfect list that would point out on everything that you must carry during your vacation, be it a long one or a shorter one. The following 30 points can come in handy at any point of time.
To start with
1. Phone Charger: We always remember to carry our cell phones, but it is the charger that we fail to pack along.
2. Camera: We go for a vacation to enjoy and click loads and loads of pictures but often we leave the camera charging to have a full battery and forget to take it along.
3. Camera Batteries or Charger: Same idea. If you often pack your camera first as a priority for the vacation, how often do you remember carrying the charger or take spare batteries along? You don't want to be looking over a beautiful sunset and have your batteries go out. Note: If on a foreign tour, proof of purchase of expensive camera equipment can avoid customs problems.
4. Tickets: Luggage is packed. You leave your house and reach the railway station or bus stand and you are about to board but what's missing is your 'tickets', worst nightmare ever.
5. Mosquito repellent: Only applies to summer travel, or when your destination is surrounded by the tropics. Don't expect to find these on the island or beach. Mosquitoes can carry many diseases, hence its importance cannot be underestimated.
6. Clothing: Go on to packing your clothing from top to toe from the skin out.
7. Nighties: Often people pack their clothing but forget to pack their night wear. A huge disaster because you might then end up wearing your high end clothes while sleeping.
8. Money: If you forget something despite being extra careful then it is your money that would help you buy them. Money is important and so is a source to get more like your credit/debit card, that to be carried along.
9. Swim Gear: Can come in handy anytime, you come across a pool, then you can't resist yourself getting into it.
10. Comb: While speaking to friend of mine, before making this list. She says "I always forget my comb", and a lady without a comb. just can't imagine.
11. Toothbrush: Something that you always tend to forget. It's often kept in the bathroom and fails to come under your notice.
12. Dental brace: For those of us who weren't born with perfect pearly-whites.
13. Sunscreen: For the people who extra careful about being tanned cannot miss to take this along. Not being sarcastic- but it actually helps.
14. Copies of your documents: Identity proof of yours and others travelling with you must kept, as it can help whenever you are in a bit of legal trouble. With terrorism rising, these can come in handy.
15. Photos of your belongings: Take pictures of how your suitcase looks like, your expensive possessions, and basically anything else that you would like to be handed back were it to get lost. Pictures can be a handy proof.
16. A memory of your password: With the invent of cell-phones, we already are used to forgetting numbers. But before leaving, make sure you know the different passwords to your accounts and numbers of important people needed during emergency.
17. Your Razor: For men, any Indian or men over the age of *whenever puberty strikes*.
18. Books: Something to keep you busy, during your long travels.
19. Snacks: Most of the times you can buy them anywhere, but kids who are brand or taste specific better carry their favourite snacks along.
20. First-aid kit: Can come in handy at any point of your travel. You never know, when you'll need a band-aid, aspirin or a antiseptic.
21. Toiletries: Shampoo, Conditioner, deodorant and many other stuffs.
22. Vitamin C: Travelling takes extra energy, and you may have irregular sleep and insufficient supplements for your immune system.
23. Medicines: If you have daily prescriptions. Don't forget to carry additional stock of your prescribed medicines. Things you must do before you are almost ready to leave!
24. Stop the services: Stop the daily services like newspaper, milk etc.
25. Update voicemail at work with absence notification.
26. Pay upcoming bills that are nearing due date: To make sure your services aren't affected.
27. Record emergency phone numbers to leave with neighbours or relatives.
28. Close and lock all windows before leaving.
29. Turn off water to external faucets and unplug small kitchen appliances.
30. Lastly A big old SMILE :) Hehe.. Jokes aside, positivity will only enlighten your travel experience and make it more fun-filled.
The list ends here but not your vacations! So travel safe, travel happily because we have relived you of your one tension i.e. your luggage.
