The day had finally came, and even though it was for a little while (three hours to be exact), no one could have prepared me for the mixture of emotions.
As I watched my husband hand over our little one to the care giver (at that time, we have moved), and her eyes looked at mine, my heart immediately sank. I wasn’t sure if it was the best thing to do anymore. My brain quickly stepped in and I was reminded that this was going to be best for all of us.
As the time went by, I realized that I was able to get a bit of that much needed rest that my body craved. I was to able to cuddle with my husband without the interruption of a sudden cry and most importantly, I got a chance to wash my hair!! (It had been a while) It’s amazing what you can do with your time once utilized properly.
I will admit, I was missing my little one. Though the time without her was well spent and enjoyed, a part of me was secretly counting down the minutes. I mean it’s been her and I for months before any day care, so can you blame me?
Overall, her daycare trail had turned out to be a success, which was great! I knew that she would have been safe and comfortable, while I had me time (and by me time, I meant sleeping).
The time away from each other was essential, as it allowed her to learn more of this world as well as allowed her to progress more in her milestones by being around other babies her age, as well as allowing me to use the time to relax, breathe and do the things I had to.
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder. Guess I’ll be fond of all the kisses my little one would give as we meet again at the end of each day!
