Throuple
It started when Amelia and Daya started dating. Wait, no, it started before that. It started when on the night before she left, Nova kissed Daya. Maybe it started before that, when Nova and Daya first met. Now, a decade and a half into knowing each other, Daya realized something.
She sat next to Amelia and sighed, saying, "What do you think about Nova?"
"She's nice and a badass. What is this about?" Amelia asked, not looking up from her textbook. It was hard to get her attention when she studying.
"I think it's unfair that I'm with you when I... We kissed once. It was only once and it was years ago but I don't think I ever really got over it, got over her. She's always been there, in my life, and I don't know what my life is without her and-"
"If you want to date her too, just tell me. But if you want to break up, stop beating around the bush."
"I... I don't want to lose you. Or her."
"You don't have to. I'm not exactly the jealous type, Daya."
And that's how it started. Now, two months later, Daya was struggling to wake up in Amelia's ridiculously comfortable bed as she heard the door swing open.
"Who's that?" Daya asked groggily, watching as Amelia got dressed. She didn't have work or school today, a rare thing, so it was supposed to be a lazy day in.
"Nova. She's making breakfast. Come out when you're ready, slowpoke," Amelia said before walking off to greet Nova. Daya smiled when she got out of bed and saw them talking, Nova rifling through the cabinets while Amelia sat at the island. They were both hers and maybe, that was something worthwhile. Maybe, she had finally made the right call.
