Of course, trust could only be won over upon years and years of building a relationship, but desperate times called for desperate measures, of course. There had been certain instances in the past in which such proverbs actually held meaning. If possible he would have preferred to manage every detail with his own hand, but occasional exceptions could be made - within reason, of course.
Taking a temporary leave of absence certainly was difficult, considering Soo Hyuk's position. Of course, he would still direct operations and keep things in order, but just in a different location. Especially with the increase in rumors concerning a potential clash between Hearts and Diamonds, a temporary change of location seemed considerably reasonable.
And details of such changes were meant to be kept in silence. Only his closest associates and the leader of the Spades herself knew of his residency at the Black Ace. But a third party was necessary for his comfort and maintenance of operations. Although a "housekeeper" by title, as a trusted member of the Spades, the third party member would play much larger roles under Soo Hyuk's direction.
Three humble knocks resonated through the room, bringing a quiet break in his thoughts. Eyelashes met with a slow blink as he turned on his heel, striding towards the door from where he had been standing to peek through the little eye hole in the door. His gaze fell upon a figure distorted by the glass, face still recognizable from a picture attached to a file he had been presented with before his arrival at the hotel. With silent confirmation of the other's identity, he turned the knob and stepped to the side in a both welcoming and cautious gesture.
"Chen, was it?" A somewhat stiff smile curves the ends of his lips. Faith could not possibly materialize from seconds of interaction, but Soo Hyuk was still a man of courtesy - for the most part. "Thank you for taking the time to meet with me. Please, do come in."
