Dawes Point Vehicular Ferry docks, c1935. These stayed in service for some years after the bridge opened as some early motorists were reluctant to cross the bridge. The only remaining punt in Sydney is in Putney.

The view from the far end of Pier One. Pier One's history piqued my interest, like many historical buildings would. actually converted from a former pier on Dawes Point, directly below the south end of Sydney Habour Bridge. The entire area started first as a naval base, then converted into a shipping wharf, passenger terminal and later on as a commercial district. Pier One uses existing buildings which is built over land and water. By the way, Pier One is just a stone throw away from the Rocks, literally just opposite it. Yet it's quiet and peaceful.
