Aria nodded as she listened to what he said and sighed a bit as he left. She wanted him to stay longer, but there were other things that needed to be checked on in the waking world.
In the real world Aria was curled up in a ball, pressed to Ashâs side.
Waking up from the dreamscape was completely different than waking up from sleeping, at least it was for Ash. He closed his eyes in the dreamscape, and opened them, fully alert in the waking world. Only to find a small, warm body next to his on the chair he had dozed off in. He looked down, brushing Ariaâs black hair away from her face, running a finger over her cheek. As much as he wanted to just stay here like this, he knew sheâd get more rest in a bed. He picked her up, as though she weighed nothing and carried her back to the bed, pulling the covers up over her so sheâd stay warm.Â
He brushed Duskâs mind, only to find her sleep, too exhausted for him to even pull into the dreamscape to talk to. Lhorcan could do it, but heâd be damned if he was going to ask his brother for a favor right now. Midnight, though....he was awake. He reached out and touched his mind, âAriaâs with me and safe right now. Is Dusk alright?â

Aurum grit his teeth, clenching his fists. Arawn was clearly provoking him on purpose. He wouldnât give in to what the older god wanted. âI suppose I just have a different approach compared to most.â
Aria thought over it for a bit before shaking her head. âThis is all too much. Going back there will make it worseâŚâ She looked at him in the eyes and froze a bit. He was so close. Her heart started beating faster and her cheeks warmed up. Gods, he was closeâŚshe could just lean in, but she didnât. He might not want it. She wouldnât push that on him without him showing he wanted it, and it was hard to think.
âOh, no, on the contrary. There are a plethora of evil beings that would employ that very method, holding an innocent being against their will. I just found it rather barbaric and unwarranted. But I can see where youâd be successful with such ... ruthless methods.â
The first time he kissed her had been done out of near desperation. A way to shock her out of her killing rage. It had worked, but... left Ash with regrets. He cupped her cheek, tilting her face up as he moved slowly, giving her ample time to pull away or say no. When she didnât, he brushed a soft kiss over her lips, pulling away to look in her eyes, searching them for a sign of what she felt.
He hummed a bit in thought. âIâm not picky. I take what I can get. But the best offer besides a year of her life or sexâ he gave her a pointed look as he said the word âwould be a shrine. Itâs one of the few things that I donât have.â
Dusk grit her teeth, unable to stop the spread of the blush that painted her face up to the delicate points of her ears, but she did not look away or drop her gaze. âA shrine, then, for answers to all her questions. Agreed?â
Aria scoffed slightly. âNo, heâs my best customer and the only reason Iâve been in business! I just followed the two to see what they were up to.â She sighed. âAnd then once we got back to my placeâŚfrom there it all went downhill.â She closed her eyes. She didnât want to talk about how everything changed, but if he asked, she would tell.
Lhorcan could sense her reluctance in her tone and in her body language, so he changed the subject.  âI suppose then, if we are indeed going to share, we should try to get to know one another.... Why a magic shop?â She clearly radiated power now, but he could only assume that growing up human, she didnât have any idea of her powers. Â
Phantom stared after her before slumping on the floor. He hated Anti. Much more now that he made him hurt both his brother and Dusk. He slammed his fist onto the floor, closing his eyes. âDammitâŚâ
Natemare didnât look up as he heard the door creak open, finishing bandaging his back up as best he could. He could tell it was Dusk though. âHow did it go?â He had a sad and pained tone in his voice as he spoke.
Dusk didnât say anything, not at first, as she took the bandage from Mare and healed the worst of the damage, then cleaned his back up.  âHe doesnât remember anything.â That traitorous voice whispered âor so he says....â Dusk tried to ignore it, knowing this is what Anti wanted, to drive a wedge between them all. And it was working.  âWhat happened?â

âOne would argue that an attribute cannot invite, simply alert someone to its existence. If that. Surely there is more chaos somewhereâŚ. anywhere else that you could ⌠be.â There was a certain glitch demon Ash would happily point him in the direction of.
Dusk was about to answer Midnight when a presence came over her. A command from her god, given as a thinly veiled request. How could she say no? Her aura faded, guttered then flared black as she rose. She had enough control still to make sure to put Midnight in the chair, not just dump him unceremoniously to the floor. And the she walked out without a word, heading to Ariaâs room.
When Dusk opened the door, Ash took one look at her and swore softly under his breath. If the black aura around her didnât give it away, the deep, echoing baritone voice coming out of her mouth did. âTo what do we owe this⌠unexpected pleasure, Aurum?â
He still didnât give any response, his eyes flickering between her eyes and her hand.
Midnight hesitated before sighing. âI guessâŚâ
âOh.....Kam....â She squeezed his hand. Dusk knew Ash was ....furious at Kam, and not without reason, but it still came down to the fact that Kam was very young, and just trying to survive.  âWill you please try to eat...or just talk to me?â At least if he opened out and got it all out, it wouldnât be festering inside him.
Ash pet down Midnightâs back, âIf she canât, youâre no worse off...â But if she could, it would make a huge difference for both Midnight and Aria. Perhaps Phantom as well....
Aria looked at it and smiled, taking them from her gratefully. âThank you, Dusk.â She started towards the bathroom again, her wings tucked tightly against her back so they didnât drag.
Midnight nodded. âMilk and meat. Iâll be fine, no need to get Dusk. ButâŚcan you thank her for healing my arm for me?â He didnât elaborate as he settled himself in. He had to change to his feline form or he would have to continue putting small amounts of magic into staying human. âPut the milk in a bowl, please.â
Dusk watched her head to the bathroom, âAria....if you need anything. Â Need any ...help, Iâm here, alright. Â Wet wings are heavy, so be careful and donât strain yourself.â Â
âIâll be right back with it.â Ash headed off, passing Dusk in the hallway, âCan you check on Kam and War. Â I think theyâd be more comfortable with you. Also, Midnight says thank you for healing his arm. He seems to be moving around fine, but you may want to check on him later.â Â He knew Midnight had said he didnât need Dusk, but... he also knew his sister seemed fond of him. Â
Dusk nodded, âOnce Aria is settled, Iâll go check on them.â Â She smiled when Ash mentioned Midnight, making a note to see how he was doing later. Â
Ash returned with a plate of meat heâd cut into small, bite sized pieces and a bowl of warmed milk. Setting both down where Midnight could easily get to them. âAnything else you need?â
