& so our fave tradition continues. it’s our 3rd year here at sundance, & it has somehow...gotten even better. apart from the movies we chose, even the movies we waitlisted & saw were just. SO good. my goonies y’all. every year though, there’s been a movie that just —hits us. the kind that stays w/ you. 2018 was eighth grade by @boburnham. 2019 was the farewell by @thumbelulu. & this year — nine days by @edson.oda. i really can’t put into words how mind blown i am by this story edson gave us & the heart behind it. incredibly written & acted by @winstoncduke. @zaziebeetz. #davidrysdahl. #billskarsgard. @wongrel. #ariannaortiz. it’s premise —- what makes a soul worthy of life & what makes life worthwhile. it made me laugh & ache. it somehow simultaneously warms & haunts. as with anything, i know it’s not for everyone, but it absolutely was for me & i really just... can’t wait for y’all to see it.
