The 1988 Film āBeetlejuiceā has had a special place in my heart for many years ā„ļø. Itās because of this film that I discovered Phantom of the Opera when he appeared in the āBeetlejuice Graveyard Revue'' which of course started my journey into proudly becoming a āTheatre Nerd.ā š As you can imagine when I found out Beetlejuice was being made into a Broadway Musical it felt like a full circle moment for me. Since I donāt live in New York š½, I knew there was a very small chance that I would ever see the Broadway Production and even if I did, most of the original cast would probably have left by that point. When the show announced that it was being evicted from the Winter Garden Theater in 2019 followed by the Covid Pandemic in 2020 shutting down theater shows, I definitely knew I wouldnāt be seeing it. The fact that it not only was able to come back in a different theater in 2022, but that I was able to see it during my familyās visit to New York that same year was honestly a bit surreal Just to clarify for anyone who is not aware, yes the voice Alex Brightman does as Beetlejuice is 100% safe and healthy. It in no way puts any strain or damage on his vocal cords. āVentricular Fold Phonation,ā Google it. š While the show may have closed on Broadway, this show about Death is still Alive in the form of its National Tour.
