Ode to those who fool themselves

            With words by which they dogmatize

And stand steadfast by their convictions

            Which change with winds and emotion

And their belief, without thought, makes them blind

            Running around dark rooms with candles

Eyes blindfolded, wondering why everything is still dark

            Arms flailing, trying to hit those closest to them

Hating them for their own darkness, while the others sit reading

            Poetry of love by the flickering candlelight

Ignoring the moronic cries of those who are wilfully blind

            Every now and then avoiding a flying hand

Engrossed in the words of love and passion

            The misuse of symbols and words to deceive

Creating a plethora of non-stagnant images and concepts

            By abusing abused language, and treating their minds

Laughing at those around them, running fast to somewhere

            A place that exists only in their clouded minds

The open eyed sit quietly, taking in the spectacle

            Observing and enjoying the blind’s antics

Relaxed in the candlelight which flies around the room
