‘Galliano: Fashion’s Enfant Terrible’

A little over a year after his debut collection for Maison Margiela, a new book provides a retrospective look at John Galliano’s most notable work to date. Author David Foy skims over the designer’s public firing from Dior in 2011, focusing instead on his intensely creative, headline-making collections. The book chronicles his career from the Central Saint Martins graduation show that launched his career to his 1987 “Streetcar Named Desire”-inspired collection and his designs for Givenchy and Christian Dior in the late ’90s and early aughts. It provides a comprehensive catalog of Galliano’s most outlandish, memorable and controversial collections — including his fall 1997 “Americana meets Orient” ready-to-wear collection for Dior, his “Haute Homeless” spring 2000 Dior collection and fall 2004 “Galliano Gazette” newsprint dress and accessories.

VV man gets 67 years for molesting niece

JOSHUA TREE • A 70-year-old Victorville man will spend the rest of his life in prison for repeatedly sexually assaulting his 6-year-old niece.
