David Wayne Fish: Exercising tips for people with diabetes
Hi, guys! David Wayne Fish here to talk to you about the necessary relationship between diabetes and exercising.
The benefits of exercising are, in my book, practically endless, especially for those with diabetes. Not only would it help them burn excess body fat, but it would also improve their bodiesâ use of insulin. By combining diet, exercise, and medicine (prescribed, of course), diabetics can capably control their weight and blood sugar levels. But like many, they should also follow some guidelines when it comes to exercising, making sure that they stay safe. These guidelines include:
⢠Getting the doctorâs approval. First and foremost, diabetics, or any other person with a serious health condition for that matter, should consult with their doctors before committing to an exercise program. I, David Wayne Fish, believe that by doing so, diabetics can take out the unnecessary risks involved in wanting to stay fit.

⢠Listening to the bodyâs responses. If diabetics start to feel shaky, anxious, or unusually sweaty, I advise them to stop exercising immediately and check their blood sugar levels. There may be sudden changes in their blood glucose levels that can jumpstart serious health complications.

⢠Bringing fast-acting carbohydrates while working out. I also recommend diabetics to carry food that have at least 15 grams of âfast-actingâ carbohydrates whenever they go to the gym. These food types can raise blood glucose levels faster than others, making them handy for treating hypoglycemia. Examples of these are fruit juice, hard candies, and glucose tablets or gels.

Diabetics should remember that exercising is beneficial for them. It can give them the strength they need to live their daily lives. However, they should also remember that if it is not done properly, exercise can actually do them more harm than good.
