Nekomi wasn’t necessarily a hub for progressive advancements in society. A sleepy town like this one courted places like the above-average Nekomi Institute of Technology, yes, but it was an analog structure in a world that seemed to whiz by it with its digital needs. It still showed itself as some sort of ideal Japanese living, complete with local stores, a tranquil environment and the occasional temple hidden away (not by choice) from the city.
It was in Nekomi where the brunette rode, on her robot-turned-bike, a now-normal sight to be seen around here. She’d recently purchased her share of goods for the day, the sale in the papers being as good as said. Bag blowing in the wind like her hair, Skuld had decided to take a longer route on a whim. The wind breeze felt good, which seemed to push away thoughts of rushing home. It was actually relaxing for once.
The harbor glittered under the mid-noon sun, with scant boats anchored tightly. She was sure the landscape would’ve pleased her older sister, who loved scenes like this one. Not that the child goddess didn’t either; on her own, her appreciation was more of a nod and recognition rather than an admiration for what nature could do. That, and she was far more loving of perhaps something like electronic fairs-- of useful items like a new jetpack that could travel all over in one day, of a bazooka that could trap demons no matter who they were, of a huge clunky-ish robot stationed near the end of a dock, of a super-generator that could power up her Banpei for weeks--
There’s a giant robot like the ones on television!
Screeching to a halt, the ground was still smoking from the friction of tires when she took an immediate detour. No, no, no, forget everything--that wasn’t going to go ignored! For the sake of everything mechanical, she was going to go oogle and fawn over it like the child genius she was! For...science!
