The Mystery Of It All or the Misery?
The gowns and tuxedos were absolutely mind numbing but what was even more so was the way everybody hid so well behind their masks. The Daily has found a majority of the students that attended the ball were miserable during it. Is that because they never gave it a shot or they just felt lonely? Reporters from the Daily were all over the ball and the things we heard and saw kept us quite entertained.
Arriving was confusing to say the least but once you got settled into the unfamiliarity it was rather fun to people watch. The first major topic of the night seemed to be sex, though at a high school dance we can't really say we're surprised. The conversation seemed short-lived when a few of the girls put an end to the discussion. Not long after teens began to mingle and attempt to unmask each other.
Secret names and masks kept the students well hidden but their actions and personalities seemed to give them away. Angel Haskins was spotted lighting up a cigarette near the edge of the dance floor only to be confronted by her friend Tramp Wilkins. We still aren't sure if Angel knew who he was when she rejected his conversation in favor for that of one of the new kids, Jack Skellington. The two seemed to really hit it off and were even seen leaving the ball together.
After an awkward encounter with his friend Tramp found himself on the dance flooring asking for the hand of a young beauty. The dance as well as the conversation was ephemeral and they went their separate way looking for different people. Who was this beauty? None other than his girl, Lady Winchester. How dumb do you think he felt after? Finding her first and not even realizing he was dancing with his own girlfriend.
Little Lady was spotted on the dance floor not long after, this time in the arms of another man. Who was the mysterious boy teaching her to Tango? George Jarfaris, on of the many new and attractive students at the Academy. The Daily was a little dumbstruck by what we saw follow their little dance lesson; Lady seemed to kiss this boy. Perhaps she was confused. Perhaps there is something else going on entirely that we haven't yet gotten wind of. I guess we'll figure that out in the aftermath.
The schools still very fresh meat, Dale Saria, was seen getting a little too friendly with Vixey Kasten. Maybe the Daily will have to bite our tongues and take back what we said about Vixey. Is she more than just a flirt? Apparently so, but is she a whore? We find that to be a tricky question to answer in full.
While the ball took lots of crazy twist and turns not everything stood out like the previously mentioned ones. The Daily expected some strange things to happen but we never thought we'd see some of the pairings we did. Strange conversations between the most unlikely people seemed to be started and ended in ways even we couldn't have expected. But will the ball and its aftermath prove to do more good or bad for our little Academy?
