The head is that of aĀ āDassieā or a Hyrax and the body looks much like an African Puff Adderās. Witnesses of this creature say that it is venomous and capable of hypnotizing its victims. W. L. Speight wrote in Empire Review that the Das-Adder is often said to have red and yellow markings on its tail. While some people think that this creature could be some type of new species, others think it may just be a lizard with a very long tail such as the Cape Rock Monitor which sometimes hides between rocks so its limbs are hidden from view.Ā
