She remembers learning how long it takes for light to reach from the stars and touch Earth—the speed it travels. About 300,000 kilometers per second.

She remembers thinking that far too fast.

He laughs, when she tells him.

But he takes her to a planet where all the stars in the night sky—most invisible to the naked eye—are billions of miles away, and the sky's an endless, inverted pupil.

"From here, light takes millions of years to arrive," he says, patiently.

She reaches for his hand.

He sees her in his dreams.

He doesn’t sleep much, keeps moving, running, as muchas he can, as much as Martha, and then Donna can, but it does him no good; thelonger he goes without sleep, without seeing her, the more vivid the dream, themore intimate the memory.

He made it forty days, once, through sheer force of will,and when he inevitably passed out at his work table, he dreamed of animpossible planet, orbiting a black hole, and making love to Rose for the firsttime.

Not even erasing everything he was, becoming a human withentirely new memories, was enough to erase her.

So when he sees her again, on an empty dark and rainy street,daleks in the distance, it feels like a dream.

He still dreams of her, afterwards.  After the Daleks and Davros, returningplanets to their proper places, after a TARDIS full of friends and lovedones.  He dreams of her, running to her, withher, chasing the stars and travelling, forever spent with his beautiful pinkand yellow girl.

The dreams don’t hurt then, he doesn’t run from them.

There’s no need, when he gets to spend eternity waking up toher.

He sees her in his dreams, but he sees her when he’s awaketoo.

The hotel receptionist is like “and for your troubles we’ve upgraded you to the honeymoon suite Mr and Mrs Noble!”

and Ten opens his mouth and is like “Oh we’re-”

but Donna gently places her hand on his arm and leans over to whisper “I say we go with it”

“What? Why?”

“They have chocolate, champagne, AND huge jet bathtubs up in those bitches. I wanna bring out the swimsuits and have, just, a GIANT bubble bath.”
