I drove from Ohio to #Columbiacountyny-- just to see what I'd find there. I happened upon the #darrowschool, an extraordinarily beautiful campus-- a former #shakervillage. There I meet Don Carpentier, #historicpreservation teacher extraordinaire. I post this photo here as a tribute to Don, who died of ALS a few years ago. Eventually, I'll be posting some photos of the village he constructed on a meadow in Rensselaer County. He invited me there to photograph is Columbian Press, a fancy printing press that was one of America's first, great technological exports. #working #artisan #construction #menatwork
