Dogs make Joseph far more uncomfortable then he lets on. While it's not so bad during the daylight at night he tends to have vivid nightmares based around or reliving the attack that supposedly killed him.
Because he has traits of both a realist and an optimist Joseph finds himself at war within his own mind at times. He generally opts for whatever is the silliest option, however, if only for the sake of keeping up the good mood. He'd rather people think him to be a two-dimensional goof then to be concerned over what other thoughts he may have because of this.
While he isn't much of a pet person by any level if he could have a pet at this point he'd probably have a pet rat. He actually doesn't mind the furry buggers and even had some when he was a kid, though he'd simply prefer to tell everyone: no pets! Considering he has no time for pets, it's for the best anyway.
