funnily enough, the skeleton beings in Darkrune (name of what I've called this storyline) are actually ALIVE. Their souls are their main life source, they're just mostly composed of bone, and some of their more "organic" adaptations include their ears and eyes, just stuff they need to survive and communicate. their hair is just some of their magic emerging for self-expression.
