Fragments, thousands of fragments. Changing every now and then, twisting, spinning around chaotically, making the air to buzz as they collected themselves into a whole single picture, another one new old scene that never lasted for too long. Deinelius broke it over and over again, forced it to return back to the fragments, so the circle would start its way again yet from a very different angle of view. He watched as the fragments fused with eath other, to turn into a very new illusion. This time it looked very pleasant to the eye.

The fellow didn’t smile anymore. After hours, days or even longer (since the time clearly stopped in this place), after spending a lot of energy on erasing all these disturbing visions popping up in the Basement for the sake of not letting him to move forward anymore, after all these odds, he couldn't help but started to feel troubled.

What if I will never manage to reach out to her?

''No,'' he told to himself. ''We can't just give up. Not in the middle of the way.''

Was it even the middle of it? Cornelius couldn’t tell at all, nor could Deimos. All what they knew in that moment is that they must stay connected together and keep moving forward, keep replacing the horrible pictures with beautiful illusions.

But wait. Are we really obligated to continue doing this?

Deinelius stopped, gasping as realisation hit him. The answer was so simple! How could he let himself to have fun and end up trapped here, if he could just pass through the scene?

Without thinking much, he became ghostly, closed his eyes and hurried to float  through the illusions. The whole place instantly changed, back to the way it used to look; just a gloomy hallway with the walls that were made of dark marble.

He pushed the first real door on his way and entered one of the rooms, the correct one.

‘’ℐ𝓉'𝓈 𝓉𝑜𝑜 𝓁𝒶𝓉𝑒.’’

Her presence was clear, very close, quite overwhelming for a certain part of his. He landed on the ground and forced himself to step closer. She was watching.

‘‘Nonsense,’‘ he said quietly. ‘‘It’s never too late. There is always a chance, for everyone! All what they need to do is just try and take it!’‘

‘’𝒲𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝒶𝓇𝑒 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓉𝓇𝓎𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓉𝑜 𝒶𝒸𝒽𝒾𝑒𝓋𝑒, 𝓁𝒾𝓉𝓉𝓁𝑒 𝑜𝓃𝑒? 𝒟𝑜 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓁𝓁𝓎 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝓀 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝒲𝑒- ℐ 𝒸𝒶𝓃 𝒿𝓊𝓈𝓉 𝒽𝒶𝓋𝑒 𝒶 𝒻𝒶𝓂𝒾𝓁𝓎 𝓉𝒶𝓁𝓀 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓃 𝒽𝒶𝓅𝓅𝒾𝓁𝓎 𝒸𝑜𝓂𝑒 𝒷𝒶𝒸𝓀? ℐ 𝓌𝒶𝓈 𝒷𝒶𝓃𝒾𝓈𝒽𝑒𝒹 𝒻𝑜𝓇 𝑔𝑜𝑜𝒹, 𝓌𝒾𝓉𝒽 𝓃𝑜 𝓈𝑒𝒸𝑜𝓃𝒹 𝒸𝒽𝒶𝓃𝒸𝑒𝓈. 𝒟𝑜𝓃'𝓉 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓀𝓃𝑜𝓌 𝓌𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝒽𝒶𝓋𝑒 ℐ 𝒹𝑜𝓃𝑒?’’

'’We know what you did, we figured the truth. Grandpa did His best to protect everyone, but ...wiping out a part of our history and forcing everyone just forget about your existence was wrong! He could explain to everyone that you didn’t truly mean harm, he could ask the others to help, he wasn’t the only one in power- not like I am making excuses for you; traumatizing people is never okay! I just believe that locking up and abandoning you for fifty thousand years was one of His biggest mistakes. I— I want you to come with us! Please! We can help you!’’

There was a long moment of silence.

‘‘Please, think about it! We really can work it out! If you just come with us— w-what are you doing?!’‘

‘’... ℋ𝑒𝓁𝓅 𝓂𝑒? 𝒲𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝒶 𝓃𝒶𝒾𝓋𝑒 𝓁𝒾𝓉𝓉𝓁𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝒶𝓇𝑒. 𝒜𝓃𝒹 𝒿𝑜𝒾𝓃𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒞𝑜𝓇𝓃𝑒𝓁𝒾𝓊𝓈' 𝓂𝒾𝓃𝒹 𝒹𝒾𝒹𝓃'𝓉 𝓂𝒶𝓀𝑒 𝓎𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝓃𝒶𝒾𝓋𝑒𝓉𝓎 𝓉𝑜 𝒻𝒶𝒹𝑒, 𝓃𝑜𝓉 𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓃 𝓈𝓁𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉𝓁𝓎. 𝒲𝑒𝓁𝓁, 𝓌𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝑒𝓁𝓈𝑒 𝒸𝑜𝓊𝓁𝒹 ℐ 𝑒𝓍𝓅𝑒𝒸𝓉 𝒻𝓇𝑜𝓂 ℋ𝒾𝓈 𝑔𝓇𝒶𝓃𝒹𝒸𝒽𝒾𝓁𝒹... ℳ𝓎 𝒹𝒶𝓇𝓁𝒾𝓃𝑔, 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓈𝒽𝑜𝓊𝓁𝒹 𝒽𝑒𝓁𝓅 𝓎𝑜𝓊𝓇𝓈𝑒𝓁𝒻 𝒻𝒾𝓇𝓈𝓉.’’

Frozen in shock, Deinelius stared at the tall sinister woman who suddenly appeared next to the golden cage in the room’s corner. She unlocked it and instantly was pushed by a terrible grotesque being crawling out of Its cage.

I wouldn’t say it’s exactly the things he says, it’s just his character in general. He lets the other students do awful shit for his amusement/gain, making them try to prove to him how there are things that matter. They steal, murder, sin, etc in different ways and offer it up to him.
