why do you write like youāre running out of time? write day and night like youāre running out of time. Every day you fight like youāre running out of time, keep on fighting in the mean time.
Home or Hogwarts?
Home bedroom, though she would pick Hogwarts generally. While Hogwarts for Cassie is a place filled with adventure, new possibilities and everything new that she has been dreaming of for so long; she is still a sucker for her room at home. Mainly because it feels so familiar and has all of her notebooks, books, and is filled so many memories of her childhood and Stan. Though she has to admit, having the library so close by here, really does give it a run for itās money.Ā
Five memories:Ā
Ink stains: It is no surprise to anyone that Cassie writes practically every spare moment that she can and anywhere for that matter. Her bed has often been the location of many a scribbling session. Notoriously clumsy, Cassie has spilt ink countless times all over her bed or on her hands and then touched something. There are ink stains on the curtains and bed frame to no ones surprise.Ā
A memory with Stan: Lying on her bed and listening to records was always a common occurrence between the pair. Theyād done it so many times back home, music had always been a big part of their friendship. A new record meant a listen and dance session. Cassie had quite literally dragged him off her bed so they could flail around the room haphazardly, letting them limbs swing in every direction. Though it was a common theme, it would always be one of Cassieās favourite memories because it was the first time they listened to one of their shared favourite records. Even if she had accidentally managed to hit him in the face while swinging her arms about.
A memory with Mary @maryconrad: It truly was a blessing is disguise that the two girls were not put in a dorm together. Of course not for either of them, they would have loved in it. But the destruction that they both would have caused from shenanigans would have been countless if theyād been in each others company as long as room mates were. Though that didnāt mean that they never got up to any trouble. They were drinking in Cassieās room one evening before they headed down to the lake to meet up with the rest of the gang. Mary had stolen a bottle of wine from the kitchen and Cassie was never one to say no to anything. Theyād ended up jumping along to Cassieās record player on her bed. Bouncing at the wrong time, Cassie had ended up bouncing into the bed post. Leaving more of a dent on her head than anything else. But there is still a splinter in the wood from how hard she hit it.Ā
Proving a point: Stubborn as a bull, if she has a point to prove she will make sure that she does. Something she finds the need to do more often than it feels like she comes up for a air. This time it had been a debate with her room mates. Sheād been standing on her bed for a height advance as if some how being that little bit taller would make her voice more impactful, when sheād stubbed her toe hard on the footer of the bed leaving it bruised for weeks.Ā Ā
Smoking: Cassie had been smoking in her room in her fourth year, while going to light another cigarette with her wand instead of a lighter, a spark flew from her wand and caught onto her curtain setting them on fire. Luckily sheād managed to put the fire out quickly, but there is still a visible scorch mark.
10 things you could find in cassieās corner:
1) books upon books: an avid reader, along with her suitcase there are countless books stashed under her bed. Whether it be notebooks that have run out of pages, muggle books - particularly her favourite poet Sylvia Plath -, or more reluctantly school books, every breath she takes is meant to be filled with the written word and thatās just how Cassie likes it. 2) the infamous patch work denim jacket: normally slung across the end of her bed when she isnāt wearing it, the jacket is adorned with patched given to her by her best friend Stan.Ā 3) blanket her mum made for her and it acts as a piece from home 4)Ā Gaelās house: Cassieās pet at Hogwarts is a little tiny toad named Gael, she made a little make shift home for them which lives just at the under the foot of her bed 5) Hanging stars: a small reminder of home, Cassie took a few stars from her siblingās + Stanās old hide away den. It gives her comfort knowing she can look up at them every night. Sheād got one each made by Eddie (@edmundmacmillan), Mel (@melmacmillan), Lizzie (@lizziemac), Stan and herself.Ā 6) The record player Stan bought her: One of her prized possessions, it takes pride of place by her bed side with the small amount of records she owns - mainly the beatles, queen, david bowie and fleetwood mac 7) An unreasonable amount of tea: Cassie drinks tea as if it is water. When she is writing in the dorms or common room, you can bet she has a cup of cinnamon black by her sideĀ 8)Ā Scrunchies: There is always atleast two or three stray scrunchies by her record player for her to bung her hair up out of the way and off her face.Ā 9)Ā Mugs: there is a couple of mugs sheād brought from home that she keeps under her bed for whenever she wants some tea. She used to borrow them from the kitchen, but would forget she had them and would always get slight death stares whenever sheād go back down after breaking a couple. So after first year, her own became necessaryĀ 10)Ā Quills and parchment: there is an abundance of ink, quills, scrap pieces of parchment, newspaper clippings and the odd new notebook always around Cassieās bed to grab at a moments notice.
