Being an sex repulsed asexual is a different experience when it comes to reading and writing fanfiction.
When you read it, you have to filter 20+ tags in order to avoid even SOME of the mature/sexual content. Even then it's always there because people don't properly tag their works. And a lot of the works you do find are unfinished or just one shots of the same scenario over and over. Like the typical hurt comfort fics or the same fluff fics and it's very frustrating.
And when you write fanfiction, you always feel like you're not being adequate enough because you won't write mature scenes.
Sex is such an ingrained thing in fanfiction that I almost feel like an outlier when I read and write and it really sucks.
