So we’re watching Daria with the little intros on the beginnings for whatever event they made them for
Jane keeps being salty about the two of them, especially when the topics of sex and marriage come up
the writers are obviously aware of them being shipped
it is a great ship - they have a great dynamic, and I could totally ship it
the thing is, Jane is canonically and emphatically heterosexual
but that isn’t a terrible impediment, especially considering all the hints that Daria is asexual or on the ace spectrum
and that Jane enjoys romantic gestures and emotional intimacy with women, but dates men casually/for fun
and that her relationship with Daria is pretty much the most important one in her life, regardless of if either of them are dating
they would make such a great ace romantic couple, and Jane could have fun with guys on the side
which would totally justify Jane being salty about assumptions re: sex and marriage
