You will notice that the start up post is formatted in a different way to previous versions of dare or other roleplays. This will be a reoccuring theme throughout DARE revival. This version will all be a little different. Please read the start up prompt to understand your characters current stance. You may post starters using the same old darestarter tag. Nothing has changed. Please go to the housing list and follow everybody, otherwise, you may post starters in the tag from now set on the Morning of Sunday 18th. Please remember, for those of you who were not involved in dare 1.0, this is a boarding school and most of these students do not leave at weekends.Â

Thereâs something wrong with your school. Ever since you can remember the teachers have been a little bit off. The headmaster never seems to get to the point. Even the other teachers stay out of his way. Him and his limp. The mayor hangs around the school breaking into a sweat and everyone knows itâs over something besides his kids. And the noise -- the God damn whirring noise -- it keeps getting louder. The more time passes the worse it gets. Everyone can hear it, everyone knows itâs there, somewhere beneath the floor of the main school house something is going on and nobody seems to want to tell you what. This wasnât in the brochure.Â
Some mysteries arenât meant to be solved. But nobody told you that, did they? The great debate of whether or not you should dig up the answers is the only thing thatâs ever pulled together your peers and one night when you all band together to go on a hunt you find yourself standing outside the door to the basement. A hidden world. Pictures of people you thought you knew as teachers as students, the sound louder than ever, like itâs about to explode. That blue light beneath the door is equal parts terrifying and amazing. Some want to know whatâs behind the door and some want to leave. Secrets are dangerous.Â
Nobody gets to make that call. The Mayor appears and suddenly you know that youâre going to be in big trouble. Itâs only a matter of time before the head master hears, everyone knows that bad behaviour gets punished, but you canât help but wonder, even if you shake it off, what the hell is behind that door?
SUNDAY 18TH DECEMBER 2016, 8AM.
The way you felt, your escape plan, the way out.
Thereâs only six days before your parents come pick you up but the Christmas holidays wonât last forever. This problem isnât going away. Especially not this Morning.Â
Read about it beneath the cut if you DARE.
WARWICK -- Youâre in the deep. Youâre bound to get caught.
Harry Sinclair
Youâre freaking out. You might be able to watch your peers slip through the gaps but you wonât get off lightly. Everything youâve ever got was taken with a pinch of salt. Calm down. Do you know how to do that? Donât cry. Youâve got that one nailed. You donât need the answer to a mystery, you already know too much.
Tristan King
It wasnât even your idea, was it? Stupid little kids running around in the dead of the night. You tell yourself you want the satisfaction of pissing off your Uncle to avoid admitting that youâre actually scared. Youâve never seen his eyes look as dead as you do this Morning when you bump into him on the way to the bathroom.Â
Sebastian âSJâ Johnson
Itâll probably be fine. You get up for your Morning run with that in mind and grab a glass of orange juice at 5am with a smile on your face. Come on, SJ, think positive, whatâs the worst that could happen? Fifth House. It sends a shudder down your spine but you shrug it off, you wonât say a word if nobody else does.Â
James Lawton
Not much gets to you but you donât sleep a wink. In between the haunting thought of punishment that you promise everybody that will listen (and even some that wonât) you donât care about and the memory of that slip of paper in your hand, âI donât know, jeez, itâs just a piece of paper, look,â you donât sleep a wink. Youâve never seen a man look as haunted as the Mayor in that moment.
Kenilworth -- Maybe your house Mother will protect you.
Poppy Stevens
It was all your fault, you were the driving force, the one desperately throwing herself at locked doors for answers, but you wonât say that. You know your Father will be calling you a thousand times to tell you what he thinks about you nosing around but you donât care, youâre going to continue to push for answers -- no matter the consequence. Even if you donât know why.
Daisy McClain
What was a bad plan turned into a terrible one but you donât admit that. Between Poppy and Tyler you donât know whether to laugh or cry. Your head is just about to explode clean on your shoulders and the thought of the headmaster being involved is only making it worse. Who cares if you have leniancy in your house, youâre living in the real world. Or so you say.
Carrie Aldridge
It was a good night. You donât know why everyone else is whinging, youâve wanted to get closer to the answers for a long time now, you just needed someone else to figure it out too. While everyone else is worrying about punishment youâre only daydreaming about whatâs behind that door. Not for long, though. Itâs time for a new plan.
Erica Hanson
You werenât even there. Well. Not exactly. You were about a minute behind everyone else playing it cool, pretending that you werenât even following the crowd when that was exactly what you were doing. Youâre telling yourself youâre not afraid now, blaming them. God, this is why you spend most of your time alone!
Dudley - Well, whatâs the worst that could happen?
Luke Brady
Youâre peeing your pants. Not literally. Probably. You know that if anyone asks then your tongue will be wagging before your brain has figurd out what youâre saying. Youâre trying to compose yourself for the sake of everyone else but youâre pretty sure that when a weird blue light is making a huge sound it can only mean one thing... Aliens. Probably.Â
Nathan Kigonyi
Thatâs it. Youâre not happy. Youâre especially unhappy that it was your âFatherâ who was skulking around school grounds with no explanation. Never in your life have you been so utterly confused, never have you doubted him, never have you considered that he wasnât anything but the boring run of the mill nervous Dad he was but now... Whatâs his connection to Whittemore?
Jude Tyler
It doesnât make sense. Thatâs about the long and the short of it for you. If you hadnât been dragged by SJ then you would of much preferred to stay in bed in your pyjamas and if you had the choice then thatâs where you would be right now not wondering what terrible excuses everyone else will have.Â
Maxstoke -- She probably wonât notice you were gone.
Emma Pope
Youâre annoyed at Poppy, youâre annoyed at Daisy, youâre annoyed at SJ. Actually, who arenât you annoyed at? Whatever is behind that door is obviously there for a reason. Youâve never cared much about what the teachers are hiding with their awkward glances and from what youâve seen so far, you arenât going to start now if possible.
Violet McClain
Itâs like you should be worried about all of this but youâre not. Youâre too bitter to care that this could be something big. All youâre seeing is a new reason why your family is falling apart, a new reason why you canât believe anything anyone says. Suddenly youâre coming up with theories that donât even make sense to excuse the fact that youâre struggling to care.
Aimee Peterson
Stress, why be stressed? After all, this isnât your fault, is it? Youâre not the one hiding things, are you? Everyone else seems to be missing the gold mine that this secret could be. When rich people want to keep something hidden then they pay big and you intend to find a way to get to that end goal. Youâll let everyone else do the hard work.Â
