Day 10 @ Pancho (last day)
Today was my last day at Pancho Tours. I arrived at the meeting point around 10:05, then began marketing the free walking tour around 10:15, when i'm meant to start work. I managed to communicate with some customers and found out information about them. This was information such as how did they find out about Pancho, which I then passed the information onto Guille, my colleague, as they need this information collected for the survey. Guille was grateful as I didn't have to find the information out but I was pro active and thought it would make it easier for him. (COC4) This is an example of how communicated effectively with customers and employers. (COC1). After the tour began, I did my daily routine and took photos of the tour... for the last time. Then around 11:20, we made our way back to the hostel. When we arrived at the hostel, I completed the email list. Once completed, I then messaged Guille and informed him that the task was completed. Again, this is an example of how I communicated effectively with my employer(COC4) and demonstrates my reliability(COC2). After I completed the task, I then asked Marta if there was any more tasks to do, in which she said there wasn't. Therefore, I was allowed to finish my last day at Pancho Tours early. Overall, Pancho Tours has allowed me to develop certain skills such as communication, especially with other languages. I do feel like I have become more independent whilst I have worked for the company, although, this isn't in the code of conduct, I feel it is an important aspect to develop for life in general. In terms of the tasks, I feel like these could have been expanded as I feel there wasn't a lot of opportunities for all of us. At times I felt there was not enough tasks for us all to do, even when we asked for other tasks, there was nothing they could offer. After this experience, I can say I would not work for Pancho Tours. However, despite some issues, I have really enjoyed the experience, in terms of working in another country and is something I could see myself doing in the future Adios!
Day 6 @ Pancho Tours
Today I worked a morning shift. Which after doing two evening shifts in a row, I was relieved to have a morning shift. I started work around 09:00 as I had to walk to a hostel and pick up any customers interested in the free walking tour. When I arrived at the hostel, there were two people interested in the tour. I walked them to the meeting point. Meeting health and safety regulations, I ensured they were safe when crossing roads. (COC5). After we arrived, they still had a while to wait and therefore i recommend they go and buy a bottle of water ready for the tour or sit in the shade somewhere as they will soon be walking around in the sun and the heat. (COC8). After the guides arrived at the meting point and i had done my usual tasks, me and Millie H walked back to the hostel. I was told that today the emails were a priority and they have changed the format and needed to be done again. Marta, who is another intern, asked me if i could walk to hostels to deliver maps and leaflets, but as i had been instructed to complete the emails, I told her that kindly i needed to do the emails and couldn't help. (COC7). When I arrived at the hostel, Marta had instructed me to do the emails on the travel desk computer. I said i would rather not as that computer is rather slow and continues to freeze. She then told me that I had to. So I did. However, ten minutes into my task, I had typed two email addresses out before the computer completely froze. Therefore, this was not an effective way of working when the computers in the bar worked quicker. I assumed this was okay as it was Marta's job to be on the travel desk not mine and therefore it was okay for me to leave the desk. I also moved because, it meant I could get more emails done, quicker. Which, then meant I could do other tasks once i have finished. (COC7). I worked non stop doing the emails until half 2, which I then had my half and hour break and then at 3 it was the end of my shift. Today, was a very productive day.
Day 5 @ Pancho Tours
Yesterday was my second evening shift. I started work at 5:15pm, so I left my house at 5:00pm to ensure I was on time. (COC2) Once I arrived at the meeting point, I began street marketing for the legends tour. I really enjoy this tour and therefore find it easier to market this tour. There were quite a few customers interested in the tour, one customer also asked me about the pub crawls that Pancho offer, which is on a separate leaflet. I had some pub crawl leaflets in my bag and so gave one to the customer and explained the pub crawl and what the customer receives. This demonstrated my organisation skills as I already had the materials for the pub crawl in my bag. (COC6). This is also an example of how I have demonstrated my customer service skills. (COC8). After the tour guide arrived and I had counted the groups, I walked back to the hostel. Once I arrived at the hostel, I decided to do some emails. Although, I hadn't been asked to do this task, I thought I would use my time and be pro active. Also, this will benefit the company. (COC4). Around 7pm, I then left the hostel and walked to the meeting point for the flamenco tour. It was quite quiet and there wasn't much interest in the tour. Once, Millie and the tour guide had arrived, I was allowed to go home as there was nothing else left for me to do.
Day 4 @ Pancho tours
Today was my first evening shift. Today I started at 4pm, so I made sure I was at the hostel and ready to start work at least 10 minutes before. (COC2) For this shift, I was on the travel desk. Although I haven't been trained, I tried my best to give my knowledge when customers approached me. I displayed my customer service skills when I engaged in conversations with customers and offered them advice on what tours to do. I remained positive and helpful, even on the tours I wasn't quite sure on, I would try my best to answer the question via searching online or asking my staff. (COC8) (COC1). After that, I was set a task by my colleague that I walk to three hostels and pick up any customers interested in the flamenco tour and take them to the meeting point. This is what I did. (COC4). In a lot of the hostels, there was no one interested. Therefore I just walked to the meeting point, where I met Millie who was marketing for the tour. Once the tour guide arrived, she asked if me and Millie helped her to count the tickets and people, which we did. (COC4). After that, we accompanied the tour guide and the customers to the flamenco place. During the walk, i complied with health and safety regulations (COC5) by walking behind everyone, ensuring we were all tightened and not left anyone behind. I counted the group a number of times to ensure everyone was still here. Also, I stood in the road to ensure everyone crossed and were safe. After dropping the customers off, I was told by my colleague there was no other tasks for me, so I ended my day there.

Day 1 @ Pancho Tours
After last weeks training, today was my official first day at work. Last weeks training consisted of attending some of the Panchos tours, such as the free walking tour, legends tour and the flamenco tour. This allowed us to gain knowledge on Panchos products so that we can sell them and recommend them to customers when we begin work. We also had a test the same wee, which tested our knowledge on the tours and the details of each, e.g. what time they start, finish and where is the meeting point. I think we all did pretty well in this, as we only had one day to revise all the information. Today, I started work at 10 am. For my first day at work, I wore my Pancho Tours t shirt and my name tag that had been given by the organisation. I then wore some denim shorts and some converses. I think that I dressed appropriately for the job, (COB3) as I looked professional with my uniform and name tag on. My shoes were comfortable for being on my feet all day, therefore sensible and appropriate for the job. I first began street marketing the free walking tour. I did this by approaching members of the public and telling them about the tour. I then had to ask the people attending the tour, a number of questions for the survey at work, this required me to communicate effectively with the customers (COD1). Although, I was un sure whether we had to ask these questions, I was pro active and asked them anyway. (COD4). I was then instructed to take a photo of the group and post it into the whatsapp group, which I did, which a positive caption about it. Although we did not have to write a positive caption, I felt this was appropriate as we were marketing the tour. After this, we then walked back to the hostel, where I had to do my second task. For this task, I worked with Lilly. We both had to walk down to a hostel nearby and ask the receptionist some questions, regarding Pancho Tours. The survey was to determine whether or not the company were visiting the hostel regularly to promote Panchos products. We also had to ensure that they had enough promotional material from Pancho Tours and if they didn't, we had to supply them with some. After I had done this task, I had to meet Dario who works at Pancho Tours. He assigned me a job to do over the next few weeks. As well as street marketing, I will also be in charge of taking customers numbers from the meeting points and inserting them to the mailing list Dario showed me. Whilst Dario was showing me how to work the spreadsheet and how to access it, I was being pro active towards the task (COD4) and taking notes on all the necessary information and also asking questions if I were unsure on anything. At this moment, I felt that I communicated well my employer as I continued to listen to what he said and ask if I were un sure on anything. After this, I began to work on the mailing list for an hour, before it was time to go.
