Life updates. Bought a house and learned I really hate home repairs, home maintenance, etc. But that's okay, because I am getting to travel a lot for work and have a great excuse to put them off indefinitely! Plus I do quite enjoy having my own house and backyard, it's just that I have never felt so oppressed as when I realized I have to mow my lawn so skunks, raccoons, and groundhogs don't move in.
Coming towards 3 years with my boyfriend, who I love dearly, but new relationship blinders are off. Which means I'm long past the point of making a decision re: if what we want from life is compatible enough to continue onwards. Mostly the issue is that on paper we want the same things, but his timeline is "someday, when I don't feel too young" and my timeline is "in the next two years".
I'm headed to Minneapolis soon for my next trip, which I'm excited about. I have never been and will probably be going by myself, so I'm trying to make a list of fun things to do around the North Loop area. I am probably overplanning this "work" trip, but since I usually just go to Indiana / rural Indiana / "did you know people LIVED here" Indiana, it's pretty thrilling.
I was a little sulky because they would not let me drive AND decided to save $100 by sending me on a 6AM flight, but jokes on them. When on a trip I get paid from the moment I pull out of the driveway, and if its before 530AM I get paid DT until my normal start time. So from 330AM to 730AM they have to pay me double time for the inconvenience of scheduling me a 6AM flight when an 830AM one would have worked fine. Which almost soothes the sting of a "get up at 330AM and work until 530PM" work day.
