Evil Hemmingway
Another Malört-based drink from Frederic Yarm? Say no more, I'm in. I'm not a huge fan of the Hemmingway Daquiri, but I am a fan of Malört in places it has no right to be, so it'll be interesting to see where I end up in this one.
1 oz Smith & Cross
1 oz Malört
3/4 oz lime juice (fresh)
1/2 oz Maraschino
1/2 oz simple (Portland Syrups Cane)
Shake on ice, strain, serve up.
Nothing short of spectacular. Maraschino and Malört play shockingly well together, enriching each one's flavor while covering for their astringency. This drink isn't 'good for a daquiri riff with Malört'. It's just goddamn good.
