Women in Mahabharata - Dhrishtadyumna's Wife
No detail about her has been recorded in Mahabharata, probably because she was able to lead a rare uneventful life (except for her sister-in-law and the drama on that side of the family).
We do not know which kingdom she comes from. However, in the Indonesian version she is noted as Kamaroopa's King Bhagadatta's (Narakasura's son's) daughter Danowati (Dhanamati), the twin sister of Banowati (Bhanumati), who is the wife of Duryodhana. In this story, she is rescued from Duryodhana's clutches by Dhrishtadyumna. However, in context with Bhanumati, she could also be the princess of Kalinga.
Her sons are Kshatradharma, Kshatravarma, Kshatranjaya, and Dhrishtaketu. They are all unfortunately killed in the battle of Kurukshetra.
After her husband's death, she is the one who most probably assumes control of the kingdom of Panchala, just like the several other queens of her generation.
