“Excuse me?” Juliet gasped incredulously. “My horizons are expanded. What do you do all day besides make coffee, bother me, and drool over that Dylan chick?” Juliet challenged with her hands rested on her hips.
“I don’t wanna talk about it.” Juliet mumbled miserably. How had this happened? She had Slytherin merchandise all over the place, and Pottermore had placed her in Hufflepuff? “A fictional book series has taken over my life.” She sighed heavily, rubbing her tired eyes. “I need coffee and insults. Remind me who I really am.”

Juliet's words were coming out in between sobs as she held Danny's head up. It had all happened so quickly. Juliet barely even knew what was happening when it did. One second, her and Danny were being their normal selves and bantering while Danny drove. The next, a car was smashing into them.
Tears slid down Juliet's face. "Just... look at me, okay? Look at me. Just keep looking at me..."
Danny's breathing was uneven and his eyes mostly closed, but Juliet could feel him breathing. That was what mattered. And that the fucking ambulance got there quicker.
Juliet held on to Danny's hand tightly until the ambulance came.
A sudden groan alerted Juliet that something was changing and her eyes flew open. She hadn't slept in hours; there were now stitches in her forehead and the doctors had insisted on admitting her, but Juliet had insisted right back that she was perfectly fine and that if they had any sense, they would focus on Juliet. And let her see him.
After concluding that the noise had come from Danny, Juliet rushed over from her chair to the bed. "Danny?" She demanded. "Are you okay? Can you here me? Tell me how pretty my hair is on a scale of 1 - 10."
Danny groaned again. "Juliet? What happened?"
"That- that drunk driver.... he smashed into the car. It's okay, you're fine. You were just out for a few hours. You lost a lot of blood."
The news seemed to obviously shake Danny and he looked around, taking in his surroundings.
"I'll page a nurse." Juliet said after a while. Danny nodded.
Years down the line, Danny would insist that the reason New York got so much rain was as a tribute to 'how much your mom cried that day'. Neither of them really liked to talk about how scary it was for both of them.
But in that moment, Juliet simply climbed into bed with him and made sure he was breathing.

False. Juliet loves Danny as a friend and a brother. Though they did sleep together, Juliet can't imagine them ever hooking up. Danny is one of the people Juliet would call at two in the morning because she's bored. Or because she needs a friend. Not that she'd ever say that to his face, though.
