I read something a few days ago in @danielpriestley's book “Key Person of Influence” that’s stuck with me, about physics and the Law of Inertia, stating: ▪️An object at rest will stay at rest, until acted upon by an outside force. And its opposite; The Law of Momentum: ▪️An object in motion will stay in motion, until it meets a resisting force. Mentally speaking, if you feel compelled to act, then do it. As you get going, you will find that you gather pace and can get enormous amounts accomplished. Whereas, if you don’t act you become an object at rest, destined to stay at rest until you get a big kick up the bum - far too often in the form of pain from realising you haven’t achieved any of your goals. 🛑Inertia weighs you down and it takes more and more effort to get moving. 🔜Momentum is the feeling of being in flow. It’s a rush and it’s the domain of creativity. I’ve found this to be true in regards to drawing. When I don’t draw for days or weeks, it’s very hard to pick up that pen. But if I draw every day, even if it’s just a sketch, it’s much easier to continue to do it! This drawing, as it is, is nothing special. Perspective and architecture is something I pretty much NEVER draw. But I felt compelled to draw it, and since I’ve been drawing almost every day for the past week I found it especially easy to act on that idea! If I wasn’t in that habit, I wouldn’t have acted, and I would be all the more worse for it. It doesn’t matter if it’s a bad drawing, the most important thing is that I ACTED! - #danielpriestly#sketch#artdecoarchitecture#wacomcintiq#photoshop#digitalart
