listen it's not that i HATE eyk because he tries soooo so hard to be sympathetic and he's also like. the only guy you have for a bead on the mystery. but mannnnnn it's so clear from the start that daniel is maura's husband who she's forgotten that all the love triangle stuff becomes tiring really quickly

hottest take everrrrr perchance but i really do think that ep6 maura's reaction to daniel saying they're married isn't that she genuinely doesn't remember him. in the first flashbacks she ever has (ep1 as she's leaving krester and tove) there's a shot of her hand with the wedding ring in daniel's hair so it's not really far fetched to say she remembers at least a little part of him. i think that she does remember him in that moment, maybe not wholly but enough for her to remember that she promised she'd never forget him and that she loved him enough she wouldn't ever not know him. and i think she reacts like that because she did forget him. entirely. the brain forgets / the body remembers is total bullshittery it's more like if you delete a file off your computer you can still recover it. the computer doesn't feel that there's a file missing in that spot if that makes sense? brains don't work like that. so maura did forget him and she's remembering that she loved him so much she wouldn't so then why did she forget him and I think she belives him and she's scared of the fact that she didn't even realize he was missing from her life
