You should know that there are no "perfect" families in the world. Yes, everyone has their own shortcomings, but they still care for their children and try to raise them well... However... There are those who raise them terribly.
And yes, I'm talking about them. They're not perfect mothers. They're different, but they have one thing in common, and I think you know what I mean (bad (abusive) parenting)
Danielle was a loving mother to Chris, but after her husband left (possibly a divorce, but not certain), she suddenly became cold and strict. It's understandable that it's hard for her to raise a child alone when she becomes a single mother. Even when Chris and she made up and started communicating, she still hasn't apologized to him for everything.
As for Lisa... Honestly, unlike Danielle, I don't particularly feel sorry for her plus I don't understand her logic. If she stopped being a fool and took off her "rose-colored glasses", she would stop loving AJ (she would leave him) plus she and her children would be fine... But no, she doesn't see a problem and nothing is wrong with him.
So yes, they are somewhat (almost) similar, although different... however, Danielle understands perfectly well why she did this, although she does not admit it
