The Diaz-Chavez house was as quiet as could be expected on a Friday evening. Most of the lights were off, with only the glow of the colorful lights of the Christmas tree, and the led light strips Eddie had hung outside the house were on giving the home a cozy, seasonal glow. There was a strip off light under Chris's door where his current favorite music is playing softly while the teen studies for his finals.

I was tagged by the always lovely and talented @weewookinard I've been struggling to write this morning while dealing with another god awful migraine and a crabby toddler. But this is part of the Christmas with the 118. It is (sort of) a follow up to this story. Hope you all enjoy.

"Mmm, speaking of Christmas." They weren't, not really. But Daniela has a bone to pick with her new husband. "Don't think I didn't see all the extra shifts and LAFD Christmas outreach you added to the calendar." Eddie had the good sense to use bright red, as he rinsed the toothpaste after his freshly regrown mustache. Are you hiding from your family or mine this Christmas, Edmundo?" She asked only slightly annoyed.

Eddie wasn’t looking for a relationship. After the mess he had made with Marisol, Kim, and Christopher. After therapy, and deep self reflection he had come to the conclusion that he didn’t know if he wanted to date again. He doesn't know if there is going to be some great epic love after Shannon. He has made peace with that. He is focusing on the relationships he does have instead. He works on not just repairing, but rebuilding his relationships with Chris. He puts his energy into his family with the 118 and his other friends. He even makes a few new friends in the grief support group that Bobby's priest had recommended.

He isn't lonely, contrary to what his sisters think. This is actually the least lonely he has ever been. This is also the best he has felt in longer than he can remember. Him and Chris are in a really good place again with Chris just celebrating his sixteenth birthday.
