http://www.ocregister.com/articles/crash-gated-crashed-2536181-police-wall it's weird to think that a few hours before that, you were ONLINE NOW on myspace. it's weird to see your AIM sn set on mobile, still idle on my buddylist. it's weird to remember you were once laughing and joking with me at turtle rock aiming to get drunk off our asses and see the city lights grow into a bright haze below us. i guess it's still too strange to spill tears over. i'd be lying if i said i'm gonna miss you, because we've stopped hanging out long before your death. but i'd be honest if i said i appreciated the times we did have, no matter how few. it sure as hell wasn't your time to go. but we don't really have a choice. for every second that someone on earth dies from a car accident, disease, murder, etc, it's hard to believe that it would happen to anyone that we know. we put ourselves in ignorant bubbles. impervious to anything undesireable. perfectly impenetrable, until the Truth finds a miniscule opening and rips the bubble wide open, leaving us naked, shivering, and exposed. the cold hard reality is, shit happens that we can't control. and it can make us or break us, but we have no choice but to move on time waits for nobody. the clock will tick on. rest in peace, daniel tran. it could've been anyone, but it had to be you.

The Church of the Good Shepherd at Lake Tekapo with a slight aurora in the sky taken on the first evening of my trip to New Zealand. It has been a big dream of mine to photograph the aurora for quite some time now so it was great to get the chance to shoot the aurora on the very first night that I was in New Zealand even though it wasn't the strongest aurora.
