Somehow your friends talked you into going to Coachella, mostly Daniel begging with his puppy eyes you couldn’t resist. It wasn’t a secret the two of you had been crushing hard on each other for the past 3 months now. There had been lots of shared kisses and nights spent in each other’s arms.

Little did you know that was all about to change…

Request:  An argument with jack over a fan that got too close leads to him walking out the door. A week later, you get a knock on the door, at 2 am in the pouring rain because everyone couldn’t take it anymore and just needed you by his side.

A/n: I really wanted to write an imagine after the concert and i was in my jack feels because he looked so good???? anyway, enjoy this and go read my imagine 11 minutes if you haven’t yet! tryna make a comeback ;)

“Will you tell me what the problem is now?” Jack asked as he closed the door behind you. You had both just gotten home from a day out with the other boys.

Jack had noticed you being quiet the entire ride home, even when your favorite song was blasting on the car radio. Jack started becomingly increasingly frustrated with the fact that you weren’t saying anything, and was determined to break the silent treatment.

“I don’t want to talk,” you mumbled as you kicked of your shoes, walking to the kitchen to get a glass of water.

“Y/n,” Jack groaned, “Tell me what’s wrong it’s not that hard.”

“What’s wrong, is that you let that ‘fan’ be all up on you,” you blurted out, instantly wishing that you hadn’t said anything. 

“Are you serious?” he said, throwing his head back as he let out a loud sigh. “You’re being ridiculous.”

“I get that your fans hug you and kiss your cheek and all that, it’s fine, I get it, but I don’t know,” you sighed. “She was like so close to you and you didn’t seem to care at all and were even doing the same shit back.”

“Y/n, it’s a fan,” he said, putting emphasis on the word and motioning towards you with his hands as well.

“I know,” you mocked, “Doesn’t change the fact that you didn’t have any decency in front of your girlfriend when she was dancing all up on you and you were letting it happen. She looked like she was about to either make out with you or suck your dick.”

“Oh my god,” he groaned. “You’re actually being so dramatic right now.”

“I’m being dramatic?!” you asked. “Jack maybe actually listen to what I’m saying for once instead of just brushing it off as me being dramatic.”

“I am listening to you!” he said, his voice rising, making you shrink back slightly at the sound. “I hear you loud and clear I just think you’re being fucking crazy right now!”

“Why are you acting like this is my fault?” you said back, matching the volume of your voice to his, wanting to stand your ground. 

“I didn’t say it was your fault but I literally didn’t do anything wrong you’re being ridiculous,” he defended himself.

You couldn’t believe that he wasn’t taking the fall for it. That he didn’t see what he was doing right in front of you. That fan had gotten way too close to him, and even you knew that sometimes boundaries were crossed. You had expected to do something, but he let it happen and seemingly encouraged it.

“I’m going to bed,” you said, not wanting to fight with him anymore since he was being so stubborn.

“Goodnight,” he said, “I’m leaving.”

Before you could process what he had just said, the door slammed behind him, leaving you alone in your now empty apartment. You stood frozen for a moment before running to the door, throwing it open, not seeing Jack anywhere.

You groaned, still angry as you closed the door and locked it, going to get ready for bed. It had been a late night, and although this wasn’t how you wanted the night to go, you were exhausted.

You got into bed and shut your eyes, expecting sleep to wash over you fairly quickly. You began tossing and turning, not used to the emptiness of the bed without a body next to you.

You didn’t want to cry. You told yourself that you were angry, that you shouldn’t be sad that he walked out. 

But he had never done that before. You were always able to solve arguments at the end of the day. Jack never walked out on you, he never left you like that.

You just hoped he would be back in the morning so you could both make up.

It had been days, and Jack had not returned. No call, no text, and no reply to yours either. 

It finally started hitting you, the emptiness you felt without him here. The mornings were quiet, lacking the melodic sound of Jack’s voice as he walked around. There was no sounds of him rummaging around the kitchen or your bedroom. You watched TV alone, you ate alone, you slept alone.

The loneliness washed over you like a tidal wave. You missed him.

There were times in the day where tears would randomly spring to your eyes. You would see something that reminded you of him, but when you turned to find him, he wasn’t there. Jack was gone, and he left you without officially saying goodbye.

Part of you was angry, angry that he left without even trying, without fighting. The bigger part of you, though, was just sad and longed for him back.

You wanted his arms around you, his small kisses on your bare shoulder when you wore tank tops to bed, the sound of his laugh echoing through the house. You missed dancing around the kitchen under the dim light of the fridge at 3am when you both woke up hungry.

You missed every moment you shared, you missed his presence, everything.

How had you lost him so fast?

You woke up to the sound of a knock on your door. You lifted your head from the pillow and glanced over at the clock, the red lights showing 2:00am. You furrowed your eyebrows as you put your head back down, not wanting to answer. Who could it possibly be?

The knocking persisted, and you flipped the covers off, slowly walking out into the hallway. You tiptoed to the front door, glancing through the peephole to see Jack standing there. Rain poured behind him, his hair already soaked from the small time he had spent outside.

You rubbed the sleep from your eyes, wondering if you were seeing things, but he was still standing there.

You opened the door, staring at the brown eyed boy who solemnly looked back at you.

“Can I come in?” he asked, his voice low.

“Of-of course,” you stammered, moving away so he could enter. 

It felt as though you were letting a guest into your place, not someone who lived here. You stood silently, waiting for Jack to speak. Your voice was stuck in your throat, unable to get any words out, even though you had a lot to say.

“Y/n,” he started, beginning to take a step towards you but stepped back, keeping his distance.

“I really fucked up,” he groaned. “I shouldn’t have left and I should have called. I was angry and then I thought I ruined everything and I-I fucked up. I’m so sorry.”

“I’m sorry too,” you admitted. “I may have overreacted a little.”

“No,” Jack said, shaking his head. “You didn’t. Don’t say that to make me feel better. I let her get too close, and it hurt you. I should have apologized instead of trying to keep my pride.”

“I was just jealous and angry,” you shrugged. The boiling anger you had felt had disappeared.

You were so tired that you weren’t angry anymore. You were just happy to see him, curly hair dripping onto his forehead as he looked at you intently, visibly searching for the right words to say.

“I just-I can’t be without you, Y/n,” he said. “I know I walked out on you and that was horrible, but I couldn’t take it. I thought time apart would help but it just destroyed me.”

“Me too,” you admitted.

“Really?” he asked, his voice becoming meek.

You nodded. “Once you left, I just missed you. I was still angry but I missed you more than anything.”

“How can I make it up to you?” he pleaded, the honesty visible in his eyes. He was sorry, and you knew Jack didn’t apologize unless he really meant it.

You loved him too much. You needed him too, even if he messed up.

“Just get in here and cuddle with me,” you told him, a small smile appearing on your face.

Jack’s solemn expression broke momentarily, a smile breaking onto his face. He took a step towards you this time, wrapping his arms tightly around you, swaying back and forth.

“Uhm, Jack,” you muttered into his chest. “Maybe change into dry clothes. It was really raining outside, huh?”

He chuckled again, going to get changed quickly.

You both climbed into bed, and you felt as though your “normal” had been restored. The weird feeling you had in your chest all week had vanished now that he was back beside you.

Before you go ahead and read this, I just want to say that I have never used Tinder and if there is anything in here that doesn't make sense in terms of the real app- i’m really sorry, but at this point i’m just going off of what I read on the internet. 😂

“Ladies and Gentleman, I’m sorry to announce that the Air Express flight for Tokyo, Japan has been delayed by 3 hours due to weather issues.”

You groaned out loud, ignoring all the looks you were getting from your fellow passengers. You couldn’t believe it, after waiting at the gate for an hour already, you hated that you would be here for another three, and what sucked even more- was the fact that your laptop was dead, your books were packed in your suitcase (which you had checked in) and the airport had no forms of entertainment that would keep you occupied for long enough.

So, it looked like you had two options: either talk to people or try to entertain yourself with your phone.

You looked around, taking in your fellow passengers; most of which were engrossed in their phones or other forms of tech.

In which case, your phone seemed to be calling to you as well.

Pulling out your phone, in hopes you could find a game or two downloaded from the last time you had to wait for something, you flipped around until the only forms of entertainment you felt interested in using, was the Tinder app your best friend had downloaded onto your phone, in hopes of getting you out of the house more. It had been unsuccessful, and you were often too busy to even look at the app. Until now.

Opening it up, you tightened the front of your sweater in hopes of keeping out the cold and started to swipe left and right, pretty simple so far. You kept it up for another 10 minutes before you found someone remotely interesting. He was 19 years old, living in California. He also had these really bright blue eyes and some shaggy but cute brown hair that seemed to be in his eyes in every picture. You were contemplating where to swipe, until you read the description. It said he was a singer, in a band called Why Don't We, and you knew they were pretty big; especially after seeing their merch shirts all over your local mall and while you did love music. you didn't see yourself getting involved with someone who would be in the limelight all the time, you didn't think you could handle it, especially because you were used to live your life quietly and for the most part- at home (this trip to Japan however, was an exception).

So, without giving it a second thought you swiped left- indicating that you weren’t interested, and all of a sudden you heard someone behind you start to crack up. Confused, you turned around and were face to face with 5 guys, and standing in the middle was the boy you just swiped left on.

He looked a little shocked, and his friends had expression ranging from amusement and embarrassment. Oh yes- you were living your worst nightmare.

Tinder boy looked up sheepishly, and ran his hands through his hair-

“That was harsh” he chuckled.

You were speechless, and felt your mouth opening and closing, before you uttered out a small sorry. This was unlike anything you had ever experienced before.

“Um, I'm really sorry about that- it’s nothing against you at all. In fact, I actually think you're really cute but i'm just a little awkward and I just-”

He cut you off with a chuckle and extended out his hand towards you, intending to shake it.

“Don’t worry about it- I’m Daniel”

“Y/N” you replied.

By this time his friends had left, and were walking towards the gate next to yours- seems like they were going to Germany. You glanced back at the boy standing in front of you and felt a blush coming up your cheeks. As you chastised yourself for keeping quiet, why couldn't your brain think of anything to say?

“So, you think i'm cute?” Daniel asked with a slight smirk on his face.

“Umm, I- Uh, Umm” You stuttered glancing up as you heard one of Daniel's friends call him to their gate, thankful for the distraction.

He looked back at you, a slight frown on his face, which he immediately covered with a smile that was so genuine, you would pay thousands to see it everyday.

“I gotta go-” He hesitated before continuing

“But, for what it's worth- i would have swiped right” he finished before turning around and walking towards his friends.

You felt the colour flush over your face- as you stood there dumbfounded as you watched him walk away, turning around only to give you a wink before he disappeared into a large group of people.

Leaving your heart beating faster than it had ever before. Because damn, you were hooked.

You two would always Play all Kinds of Instruments together as he plays a ton of them as well. He’d teach you some of the ones you don’t play yet and you do the same to him as well or you try a new one out together. “Babe listen to this I practised to play flute now as well”. He’d always make sure you don’t feel to anxious and asure you the entire time you aren’t bothering and that he loves to hear you talk also around his family and friends.
