The exchange at the gala was a perfect representation of alt-right boys who just think the aesthetic of power is so cool and it doesn't matter the content, they'll keep going until someone forces them to stop.

Those who don't even register that people could be upset that they're causing harm, because they're not the ones being harmed, so quit harshing my vibe!

When BB points out all this power Daniel is so proud of is just corruption, he turns it on her and makes himself the victim: "Why do you always do that? Whenever I'm excited about something (like fascism), you make me feel bad about it! Ok, lets just enjoy the aesthetics and as long as I don't SAY asshole things, everything will be just fine regardless of the effects of my/the administration's actions."

There are people who GENUINELY act like that! Who vote for/work for people literally rounding up Latino-looking people to deport them without due process and get annoyed that the Latino people in their lives point out how fucked that is. Who think they're being victimized because their GF left them after they voted for the people who want to take away women's rights. Who genuinely do not care about the real consequences of their actions because they're obsessed with the aesthetics of power/content and don't want to draw the curtain back as to how that happens (like with generative AI destroying the power grids and artist's livelihoods, but look at this cool image I made!).

When BB was first in the room with Fisk, I felt there was something in her performance that said 'she knows everything - this is a front to get info' and as the season went on, that front got soooo good I started to question if BB actually was just buying Fisk's bullshit/was going to go along with it. She's played it so masterfully that I can't wait to see how the shoe drops even though I'm TERRIFIED of how violent Daniel is sure to become when that happens.
