dangal is quite literally top ten films ever to me.nothing could take it out of top ten

As annoying as the Dhurandhar fanclub (thats what im calling them) can be,ive been doing pretty well when it comes to scrolling past any of the related nonsense. But this one made me laugh: they are celebrating its rise to being the 3rd highest grossing movie and then saying its 2nd in their eyes because they trust that Dangal performed well in China. Which is fine, but then they say this:
Everything i Know about C-ent is second or third hand, and most of it has to do with TV shows and dramas , not movies. I accept that I am hardly knowledgeable, but this made me laugh because I can see exactly why Dangal would have done well beyond "they love Aamir Khan".
When you say "its a movie about India winning a medal" you make it sound like your argument has substance, but it really a way of interpreting the movie in a way to support your stance. My interpretation of the movie is very different.
The gold medal is the destination and the end of the story, its a culmination of Geeta's journey and what it means for her and for her father, but thats never what I would say the movie is about. It's about the entire journey itself. Its about how a father to 4 daughters wishes for a son so that the son can continue his wrestling legacy and fulfill his own gold medal dreams, and how that same father realizes that his own daughters are equally capable of doing it and making an effort to support them until they reach that goal. That is what the movie is about, and that is what made the movie memorable. Yes, she won a good medal, but it felt like an earned reward for all their sacrifices, wrong choices, and setbacks they overcame.
That's also the type of storyline I can see doing well in China, Chinese movies like 'Hi, Mom' and 'Yolo' have done performed well. Her Story from 2025 also seemed to have performed well enough, so why would Dangal performing well not make sense?
