there’s a rush that burns beneath his skin. accomplishment, satisfaction in knowing that, maybe, he does belong here. the encounter with nomiki, as strange as it was, makes him believe that maybe saying yes and dropping everything to come here wasn’t such a bad idea. even if it’s left him feeling like a bruise, aching all over. he’s out in the courtyard between the four houses, the sunlight beaming down on him, crisp spring air filling his lungs, when he sees the son of hecate. he grins, stretching his arms over his head, reaching toward the sky. “you look like you did well!” gideon shouts out to him, grin plastered across his face. “bet you guys wiped the floor with her.”
