Hey have a listen to Dandy D’s remix of “Desire” by Years & Years, and then vote for me in the Years & Years remix contest on Wavo!  Years & Years is one of my favorite bands, and it would mean the world to me if they heard my remix of their brilliant song, but that’s only going to happen if I can get into the top 10 on the contest chart.  Only votes on Wavo count towards the contest.  Likes on YouTube don’t count, unfortunately.

Having trouble figuring out how to vote for me? Yeah, I had a bit of a hard time too when I voted for myself (lol, of course I did, I’m a Slytherin!).  Here are some step-by-step instructions that will help you through the voting process.  It only takes a minute.

Listen to Dandy D’s remix of “Desire”!

And then vote for Dandy D in the Years & Years remix contest by following these easy steps.

1.     Click this link on a desktop or laptop web browser. (The site is not supported by mobile device web browsers, sorry!) Or cut and paste this link into your browser: https://wavo.me/yearsandyears/desire-remix-contest/dandy_decadence_desire_remix_15398079017110000

2.     Click on the play button that appears on the window if it doesn’t automatically start playing.

3.     A YouTube video may appear in the panel on the right. You can play the video from this screen.  The video contains Dandy D’s remix of “Desire”.

4.     Now here’s the MOST important part: Click the small heart at the bottom left to vote for my remix, or click on the ‘vote’ button.  You can only vote for me once.  Liking on YouTube does not register as a vote in this contest.  Only votes on the Wavo website on the Years & Years contest Wavo Chart will count.

5.     A pop up window from Spotify will appear after you click the heart asking you to follow Years & Years and Dance something-or-other.  Click ‘yes’.  You need to be signed up as a Spotify user to participate.  If you are not, you will be prompted to sign up.  You can sign up for free by using your Facebook account or email.

6.  Another window may pop up asking you to share this song on Facebook or Twitter.  If you don’t feel like doing that publicly, you can share it as a private message on Facebook (to Dandy Decadence or to me) or you can tweet the link @swishandflick on twitter.

7. After jumping through all those hoops, your vote will be cast.  Take a breath.  I know that was frustrating.  I went through it too.  Now play that song again and dance!

Some stuff you should know:

I am a HUGE fan of Years & Years.  Just ask my kids how much I listen to Years & Years and they will begrudgingly quote lyrics to you - that’s how often I listen to this band.  If I win this remix contest, I get a prize package including autographed stuff, concert tickets, social media shout-outs, and best of all...

MY FAVORITE BAND WILL ACTUALLY HEAR MY REMIX OF THEIR AWESOME SONG!  OMG!  But only if I get into the top 10 on the Wavo chart!  So please please please vote for my remix!  It would mean the world to me if Years & Years just heard it.  That constitutes winning for me.

Be aware that, although the song has no foul language, it might not be entirely appropriate to listen to at work.  There’s some samples of heavy breathing that I put into my remix, and your coworkers might get the wrong idea.  Otherwise, if that’s totally cool with you, play it all the time anywhere and everywhere.

I realize that this contest is a promotional ploy by the many sponsors, but I’m totally fine with that because it gives me the opportunity to have my music heard.  Promo for me - yay!  A few seconds of jumping through hoops and inconvenience on your part (and in the grand scheme of things, it’s not that bothersome) could mean I get my proverbial ‘big break’.  If you’re a friend or family member, you know music is my life.  This contest is more important to me than the surface value of a prize pack.
