@dandiestbard || am i annoying you right now? (to geralt)

Geralt grumbled when Jaskier asked again something he deemed stupid. First it was to ask if they were nearly there and some other loud musings. The Witcher had to admit that the bard could get increasingly more annoying if he didn’t indulge him with conversation or something similar, which… he hadn’t been doing at all. Ignoring all the questions so far but knew he couldn’t get away with it anymore.

Geralt stepped out of the swamp-like water and spat out some of the stuff that got into his mouth. If it wasn't for the disgusting water, it were the guts he was covered in, again... The Witcher nearly stomped over at Roach and Jaskier.

He threw up a threatening finger at the bard, daring him to speak about the mess he was soaked in. It was becoming quite a thing to be covered in something disgusting. First it was the Kikimora's guts and people thought he had died trying to kill the thing... But he cut it open from the inside out... He was looking horrible.

𝕷𝖊𝖆𝖛𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖜𝖆𝖗𝖒 𝖜𝖆𝖙𝖊𝖗𝖘 𝖔𝖋 𝖆 𝖇𝖆𝖙𝖍 𝖎𝖘 𝖒𝖎𝖘𝖊𝖗𝖆𝖇𝖑𝖊 𝖜𝖍𝖊𝖓 𝖎𝖓𝖏𝖚𝖗𝖊𝖉. a dislocated shoulder had left him in a state , temper like a wounded bear until he'd stumbled back into town and he'd found help from the bard. and even then , he had grunted and growled at him the whole while. his shoulder back in place but the witcher had taken up a guarded sense of moping as jaskier had gently fought to clean him up. washed the blood and dirt from his hair and with such care that he has probably never known from anyone else in his rather long life.

' 𝐢 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐯𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐭 , 𝐦𝐲 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭. ' he grunts in pain as another shot of spikes from these dreadful needle blights hits him in the shoulder. ambushed by the dreadful things and gale has been downed already , just his luck , but gods know what might happen to the orb in his chest if he dies. frankly , he doubts any of them want to find out.

' 𝐢'𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 , 𝐢 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 ---- ' such soft assurances. but then there's a flicker of realisation and jaskier scoffs with such indignation. gives his dandelion a swift swat to his shoulder and hesitates none in calling him on it.

' that's one of mine , you little shit! don't you say goodbye to me with my own poetry. ' as if it's something incredibly rude indeed , but there jaskier is , still righting the lace collar of his shirt. as much as the doppler tries his patience , he's indeed grown on him so much at this point that it's difficult to act otherwise.

' a week , at most. and try to keep a low profile? it's a royal ball or gala or whatever of some kind , word will spread that i'm there. can't be in two places at once. ' he huffs. such an inconvenience to both of them. a gesture to his ( their? ) face. ' at least change it up a bit before you venture out to cause any trouble. '

𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞. he's sure jaskier has a point , though it just so happens to also sound like the lead-in to an insult as well. hardly unusual. geralt pokes at the fire they've made , trying to keep it alive out here in the chill of their makeshift camp. but his own observations can be made , of course.

𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 , 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬. for once however they'd compromised and jaskier had managed to find him some formal clothes that weren't completely ridiculous. it cuts a crisp silhouette and the only variation from black is the slight red motif at the sleeves. that , and he's been able to hide a dagger away under the jacket just in case they're caught up in something they shouldn't be.

it puts geralt at more of a bored ease rather than an irritable distaste for even being here. that , and he's munching on whatever food is presented to him. a short pause , as he finishes off the rest of a small meat pie. looks at jaskier as if studying him , rather than considering his point. how he stands , the critical tone , the way he keeps glancing around.
