Found this beautiful poem this morning by @beccaleepoetry and this picture the other day.....to spread kindness is seen as weakness in a world that promotes getting ahead and selfishness above all else. It is a survival instinct to think about yourself and those you care for and in some ways, its healthy. But to practice a healthy level of kindness and care for beings other than yourself is a demonstration of integrity and gives a higher meaning to being human. The beautiful thing is when you can bless someone else with help, love or kindness in the midst of your own storm. Being vulnerable is like social suicide, Ive heard the wise advice that people can use your weaknesses against you if you show them. But in some cases, vulnerability can save others and your story can be a pillar of strength and inspiration. Most importantly, it makes people feel understood and that they are not alone. I do believe that the human experience should benefit the self, but it's alot more meaninigful when you spread your love and all that you have to offer to connect with others.
