so i finished rereading the first hunger games book and the ending drives me absolutely insane, especially haymitch sticking up for katniss when she's slipping in and out of consciousness and then explaining why the capitol's furious. the dad she needed. and katniss feeling absolutely awful when it's revealed that peeta lost his leg. and the two not being able to enjoy their crushes because katniss needs to stay alive!!!! she only volunteered for prim. suzanne collins ily
UGHHHH so true the end of the first book is soooo good i love it so much. the complications of whether they actually like each other or it was all a performance. haymitch finally having a tribute survive but having to actually grapple with what that means for him. all of them starting to love each other in their own way but not being able to express it properly. nobody knowing what’s real and what’s not real. AHHHHHH i love it
