I've been thinking of Braeden for the last little while for some reason and now I'm imagining her and Derek running their own little pack, and raising their kids (and the kids they help out a long the way) and teaching them how to properly deal with trauma and just in general being awesome badass parents. ššš
Oh yeah Braeden and Derek are so good togetherā¦
Before settling down and starting a family, they travel together for a few years as bounty hunters, taking down evil supernatural creatures and helping out children/teens/young adults who have a hard time dealing with their supernatural abilities.
So I headcanon that by the time they settle down somewhere, they already are a small pack because they took in two orphan werewolves they met during their bounty hunter missions, one is a child and the other is a teenager. Then Derek and Braeden have 2 biological children and only one of them inherits the werewolf gene, the other is human.
And yeah they would really try to raise them in the best way possible, showing them how to use and control their abilities, to not be ashamed or scared of it, but also to not use it to hurt and abuse others. They would tell them that it doesnāt matter if youāre human or supernatural, if you haveĀ āstrongā orĀ āweakā abilities, the most important thing is to be kind and help out others when you can.
Because they also are Like That, they would teach their kids how to properly defend themselves (itās kinda dangerous to live in the Teen Wolf universe lol). By the time theyāre teens, Braeden taught them martial arts and how to use a fighting stick as well as a shotgun (āI donāt care if you are werewolves, your abilities wonāt always be enough to protect youā). Derek teaches them how to use their instincts to spot danger and get out of sticky situations. But they also try to give them a life as normal as they can and not be a military boot camp lol.
Anyway, a year after their second biological kid is born, Braeden goes back to her bounty hunter job. She loves it and sheās really good at it, and she feels like she helps people this way. Also it pays really well. But she tries to not be gone for long, and to not pick up jobs that are too dangerous. Letās say that her rythm is something like : sheās away on a job for a couple of weeks, then sheās home for a couple of months, etc. Derek is a stay-at-home dad until their youngest is three, then he takes a job as an elementary school teacher (he realized that he loves teaching).
