so my rechargeable Bluetooth speaker took a dive into a sink full of soapy water Bass vibrated it right off the window sill. I'd read recommendations here to leave a wet phone in bag of rice for a couple days to dry it out, so why not try the same for my speaker, right? I didn't have any rice in the house, so I decided to try it in a plastic bag of Dry-Z-Air (concentrated calcium chloride pellets) instead. After pouring about a half cup of water out of the speaker grill, I dropped it into the bag and hoped for the best. I want optimistic. The next morning, I impatiently and foolishly tried it out, ignoring the above to wait 72 hours. I hate waiting. what do you know? Works great, holds a charge and sounds just as good as before. Might be worth a try if you need to save your wet device. This product is available at hardware stores, pharmacies, and of course online. It also self under the name Damp Rid.
