Hi! Happy Holidays! Welcome to my page! If you are new here, my name is Ava. I write fanfics for PJO, and my main one at the moment is "A Kairos Moment," with the main pairing as Primordial God! Chronos x Ananke! Nico. If you are interested, do check @avaetin on AO3. But anywayâ
I have completed two projects for AKM so farâProjects B and C.
For reference:
Project B: Pair & Solo
Project C: Christmas
I did a free giveaway for Project B, and I plan to do the sameâif there is enough interestâfor Project A, which is the tarot cards.
This is a personal project, hence not for sale. But these things have MOQ, which is why I decide to do a giveaway.
At the moment, the collection is not complete, but I anticipate it can be finished by June or July. But before that, I need to ask a very important question:
If I do a giveaway, would you prefer to get the entire set or just selected cards? (If you click 'selected cards,' please comment the main card you are interested in. Or someone can comment the character(s), and we'll see the number of likes on their comment.)

Post-tartarus Percy and Annabeth and even post tartarus Nico weren't written well at all. Tartarus makes them manic, always on edge, jumpy. This is PTSD and it doesn't just go away. Not to mention, they lost Bob and Damasen.
Yes, sure, one could argue there weren't many opportunities for Rick to explore how Tartarus changed Percy in Heroes of Olympus series. There still should have been mentions.
Rick focused on Bob and Damasen part for a bit and then never again. It's like after Tartarus arc, Percy and Annabeth were back to being themselves, which is such a character assassination. Here are a few ways in which I think Tartarus changed Percy:
PART 1-PERCY
Percy becomes hypervigilant at all times.
He can barely sleep, and whenever he does, he is always affected by terrible nightmares.
He feels extremely guilty about not being able to save Bob and Damasen and hence is now extremely protective of his other friends and family.
He no longer feels at all safe in his cabin or at camp and avoids it since Hera abducting him from there led to the whole thing.
He spends large amounts of time away from the camp and avoids other demigods because he is constantly afraid he is going to hurt someone.
Percy only ever feels truly safe by the sea .
Percy knows how delicate Sally and Paul act around him, and he hates it and hates himself for it. They don't say a word even when his screams wake them up. In fact, they just sit beside him, holding his hand and letting him cry or scream. Mostly, he just finds himself shutting down.
Poseidon also makes his own protective tendencies known, and when Percy gets too manic to stay anywhere, he whisks him away to Atlantis to calm him and give him comfort.
Every night, Percy finds a place to look at the stars and repeat the same message : Bob says hello.
He becomes an entirely different person when attacked when fighting monsters. A killing machine. It scares most people especially Annabeth.
Percy becomes a lot more aloof and likes being by himself (so he doesn't have to bear the responsibility for protecting someone other than him for a while)
He becomes a bit more pensive and talks less than usual.
He hates his own power but doesn't shy away from using it in dangerous situations. But this leaves him with a long internal struggle.
He begins to think of himself as monstrous.
He can't feel at ease without feeling Riptide in his grasp.
Somedays the nightmares, the memories get so worse that he has to make himself bleed to take the worst of it away.
He becomes skeptical of most things: people, and food and objects.
Everyone makes sure not to bring Calypso in the same room as him lest he kill her then and there. It takes him a long time to forgive her.
Percy is now so good at sensing monsters that he is always ten steps ahead of everyone.
The worst of it is Percy's constant need to fight something. He spars with multiple strong opponents to at least make it a bit challenging for him. It makes him feel like Ares, and he hates it.
Percy's first true genuine smile is when he finds out he is going to have a baby sister.
Will cover Annabeth's and then Nico's in the next parts. This is enough ptsd for all of us for one day.
Aaaaaalrighty everyone! It's Strings of Fate time again! Now, you might be sitting there, thinking to yourself "Wait a minute. Juno, you still haven't posted chapters 19 or 20 to Tumblr. Shouldn't you do that?" The answer to that is yes! (â Ďâ âż) But I haven't, so here we are. One BIG change in this chapter is that I FINALLY got a beta reader! Everyone put your hands together for @demigod-shenanigans! They ACTUALLY started working on it last chapter, but I have the attention span of a sparrow and forgor. (´シĎシ`âż)
Without further ado, I would like to present to you all The Strings of Fate Chapter 21: LEO Holds It Together
Oh, I had forgotten how good a helpless demigodâs terror smelled, Tartarus said, his voice hissing through teeth that werenât exactly there, but werenât not there either. No creature of the darkness trembles quite so nicely. I will take great pleasure in this.
Leo wanted to argue, to tell Tartarus that they werenât even a little afraid of him and he could shove his pleasure up his non-corporeal ass, but that was a damn lie. He was scared, heâd never been more scared in his life, not even when Nyx had shown up, because at least Nyx made it clear that she had better things to do than torment demigods. Leo somewhat hysterically wondered if maybe getting Tartarus a hobby to occupy his time would help the situation. Maybe a nice, relaxing session of diamond painting to the tune of beach waves would chill the Pit of Damnation out a little bit. Somehow, he doubted it.
Then his vision was completely filled with silver light as Bob stepped up, brandishing his broom at nothing. âBegone! Your presence is not welcome here!â
Leo didnât want to die at Tartarusâs hands. That was maybe a bit rude of him, considering it was apparently a huge honor, but at this point in his life, Leo didnât feel the urge to bear the weight of any more âhonors.â No, he wanted to live out the rest of his days quite dishonorably. He wanted to stay up late watching sitcoms that should have been canceled a decade ago because they weren't even funny anymore, he wanted to eat junk food he couldnât even be bothered to make himself, and he wanted to ignore every problem that knocked on his front door.Â
That, unfortunately, wasnât an option, because Tartarus himself was bearing down on them.
Just like Nyx, Tartarus wasnât exactly all there, but Leo suddenly understood why Damasen had compared him to a boot hovering over an ant. Tartarus was a sort of gravitational force made of pure, unmitigated awfulness that permeated every breath and pressed down on the whole world. Leo could understand how it had completely crippled Piper if even he could feel the negative emotions radiating off of the guy. Leo was on his knees, gasping under the weight of it all, but Piper had curled in on herself, gripping at the sides of her head and making little wounded sounds into the dirt.
For a moment, Leo panicked. They couldnât fight Tartarus, no way in hell, and Piper wasnât in any condition to try and Charmspeak him, which meant that it was supposed to be Leoâs time to shine. It was his job to be the one who thought his way out of impossible situations. Be quick and be clever, TĂa Callida had always said. Right now, with his eyes going in and out of focus in a pathetic attempt to comprehend Tartarus while he drooled on his Drakon-leather tunic, he didnât exactly feel very quick or clever. He wanted to run, to hide, to at least run his mouth and make sure his last breath was delivering a punchline, but he couldnât. He was petrified, frozen in place until Tartarus decided to vaporize him like he had Hyperion and Krios.
My presence? Tartarus echoed, sounding almost incredulous. Puny little Iapetus, you are in my realm. I am the lord of all creatures of the darkness, and I will do as I please. You will do as I please. Kneel, pitiful Titan.
Before Bob could do anything, the world let out a horrible howling sound that seemed to resonate from every empty space. Leo let out a sharp cry of pain and clutched his ears, but Bob only stumbled before righting himself with a defiant jut to his chin. He stabbed his spear into the ground, which Leo figured was more symbolic than an actual attempt to harm, even if the ground was literally Tartarus. âI repeat myself! Begone!â
Why do you not kneel? How do you resist? Tartarus hissed. You should vaporize under my thumb like your brothers.
âI am not my brothers, and I am not a creature of darkness for you to command. I am Bob.â
Bob? What is a Bob?
Before Bob could answer, his coveralls bulged like that scene in Alien before Small Bob leapt forth with a tiny, ferocious kitten snarl. However, as he fell to the ground, he grew exponentially until he was a massive saber-toothed tiger. His skin flickered, showing his true skeletal form for another moment before he lowered himself into a hunting crouch with another, far more intimidating tiger snarl. Big Bob gripped his spear. âThis is Small Bob.â
Leo got the feeling that Bobâs answer hadnât exactly explained anything for this terrifying primordial being, but Much-Less-Small Bobâs ears flicked back for a moment before he launched himself at what looked like absolutely nothing to Leo. Bob, however, must have seen the target, too, because he charged forward with a war cry and thrust his spear like he was stabbing something. Much to Leoâs shock, a massive blob of blindingly golden ichor beaded up around the broom handle.Â
Tartarus screamed in what was either pain or outrage or both and both Bobs were flung backwards. You will die first! he roared. You dare raise your hand to me? You will suffer in agony for all eternity!
Bob forced himself to his feet and Small Bob was immediately at his side, saber teeth still dripping with primordial blood. Bob held out his hand, then flexed his fingers and the broom-spear unlodged itself from where it was stabbing Tartarus and shot back into his grasp. Bob grinned, looking almost feral with pleasure, and Leo suddenly understood how heâd gotten saddled with âThe Piercerâ as his go-to nickname for family events.Â
âYou speak of killing me, but you have yet to even face me properly!â Bob challenged. âTell me, are you too cowardly to manifest in your own realm?â
The very air vibrated with pure rage, and Leo felt the floor fall out of his stomach. He couldnât help but think that maybe Bob had been a little too confident, asking for a face down with Tartarus. He knew that demigods like him and Piper had no hope against someone like Tartarus, but he doubted Titans were all that well-equipped for it either. He lifted a shaky hand and clutched at Bobâs coveralls. âBobâŚâ
Bob didnât take his eyes off his target, but he did gently place his big hand on Leoâs head like he was soothing a toddler. âFriend Leo, you and Friend Piper take the Doors to the surface. I will deal with Tartarus.â
A loud, booming laugh echoed across the field, devoid of any amusement. Deal with me? Tartarus mocked. You speak as if you hold any power over me. You are nothing but a measly little Titan, a product of my belovedâs failed attempts. If you wish to face me, then it will be my pleasure to remind you of your place, Bob.
As he said the last word, the world shifted. Tartarus rose from the ground, rocks and dirt sucking together to create the constantly-shifting flesh of a warrior so massive that he made every Giant and Titan Leo had ever seen look like PeeWee soccer players. He wore an armored skirt made of blackened bones, and his breastplate was a murky black with tortured expressions coming in and out of focus. Leo got the sudden, awful feeling that if he were to look closely, heâd see Hyperion and Krios looking back at him.
But worse than that, worse than anything imaginable, was Tartarusâs face, Or, rather, the lack thereof. He wore a helm of twisted black metal, the same as his breastplate, but where his face should have been, there was just a void. A swirling vortex of darkness that sucked light into its depths. Leo shuddered with a sudden cold and realized that his own life force, along with Piper and Bob's, was being visibly sucked in, too. It wouldnât matter if Tartarus decided to fight, he could dissolve them into nothing just by existing.
Well, arrogant little Titan, you asked to face me, Tartarus said, and his voice still came from everywhere, but loudest from his new physical form. Witness now a fraction of my power manifest. It is more than enough to handle a gnat like you. As for your little mortal petsâŚ
Tartarus lifted a hand, and suddenly the monster army, which had been oddly silent since his arrival, came to life. DESTROY THEM!
Fortunately, either the threat of imminent destruction or Tartarus narrowing himself down to one semi-manageable spot was enough to let Leo drag Piper back to her feet. She had her scary new Drakon bone sword in her hand and stood to face the charging monster army. She was still slightly wobbly, so Leoâs hands hovered. âBeauty Queen, you good?â
âIâm fine,â she said firmly, and Leo couldnât help but wonder if she was telling him or the Fates themselves. A pair of demon bat ladies swooped towards them, but Piper vaporized them into glitter with one wide slash of her sword. When she spoke next, her voice was sickly sweet, but resonated with loud, undeniable authority that her Charmspeak didnât use to have. âTurn around! Your ticket group hasnât been called! You were told to wait your turn!â That slowed most of the monsters down and even had some retreating, at least temporarily, so she turned to him. âGet the Doors!â
Leo offered her a very sloppy salute before he scrambled to the chain closest to him. He started sawing away at it with his hacksaw, but that just seemed to make the chain thicker with every pass. He gritted his teeth and sawed even harder before he suddenly remembered Hazel and Frank telling him about freeing Thanatos in Alaska, and how theyâd used Frankâs magic firewood. He grabbed the chain in his bare hands and superheated it in an instant before yanking it apart. âYes! Point for Team Leo!â
âGet the other side before your touchdown dance!â Piper ordered. She was still wildly swinging her sword around in defense. It was clear that she had very little clue what she was doing (she was better than him because she at least went to sword classes, but sheâd focused on her knifing skills), but Drakon bone was apparently very sharp and flailing about was good enough when paired with Charmspeak ordering her opponents to stand still and let her slash them.Â
Beyond the little bubble sheâd managed to secure around them, Leo could see Bob and Small Bob were going head-to-head with Tartarus. Team Bob was actually holding their own, using their significantly smaller size to their advantage, rushing in and attacking, then retreating before Tartarus could retaliate. It probably wasnât doing much damage-wise, but it was keeping them from being pulverized as Tartarus lunged and swiped at them, missing with every swing. He was obviously still getting his sea legs, and Leo was worried that was the only thing keeping his friends alive.
Leo shook the thought from his head, unwilling to play that what-if game at the moment, then rushed around to the other side. He yanked those chains apart, and almost instantly the Doors shuddered, then opened with that absurdly pleasant ding! Leo quickly stuck his foot in the way like he would at a hotel. âShowâs over, Pipes! Time to go!â
Piper stumbled over to him, wincing but looking no worse for wear. âAn arai gave me a pain curse. Bad back, I think,â she said before he could ask. She gestured at the Doors. âGet inside. Iâll hold the button for you.â
Leoâs jaw dropped in pure shock before fury bubbled up in his chest. âAre you fucking kidding me?â he hissed venomously. âDuck.â
She did as he said and he lobbed a fireball at a gryphon, which exploded in a cloud of feathers and monster dust. âSomeone has to stay behind and hold the button, Leo,â she said, and she had the audacity to sound like she was being reasonable.
âWell, itâs not going to be you,â Leo snapped back. âYou heard those old ladies. Weâre stuck together forever. You and me, remember?â
âMe and you,â she echoed automatically before she grit her teeth. She glared at him and forced as much Charmspeak into her voice as she could. Leo could see the pink mist at her lips. âLeo, I need you to get on this elevator, please.â
Leo bared his teeth in a grin right back at her. âThat little trick didnât keep me from following you down here, it sure as hell wonât get me to leave you behind now.â He looked over her shoulder at the monsters closing in and frowned slightly. âHold that thought.â
He sucked in a deep breath and reached out for the Phlegethon, trying to channel that specific fire into his chest. Then he released a sharp huff of air, and the area around them went up in white-hot magical flames, incinerating some empousa who had gotten a little too close. That managed to get the army to stop and reconsider, at least, but Leo knew it wouldnât be long before they got their wits about them and realized that the fire wouldnât stay if someone managed to squash the fire boy.
Piper didnât even flinch at the flames, even though everyone else on the planet would have at least had mixed feelings about finding themselves in the middle of an inferno. She was too focused on trying to kill herself to care about that, apparently. âLeo, you have to go. We canât both stay.â
âAlright, fine, you can go and Iâll stay behind,â he said with false chipperness. Her face twisted and he let out a humorless laugh. âYeah, not so fun when the shoeâs on the other foot, now is it?â
âAlright, fine,â she snapped. âWhatâs your brilliant idea?â
Leo wished he had one. The simplicity of the situation was cruel, in a way. The answer was right there. The Doors of Death were open and waiting, and there were two of them. The mechanic part of Leoâs brain had no problem with the math of it, but the human part of Leo was jamming up the system. The human part of him couldnât look into the eyes of this girl â this girl who had been the first person who loved him since he was eight years old, who had been the first person heâd let himself love â and know that his choice would mean theyâd never see each other again. They were stuck because a perfectly balanced equation wouldnât compute, and if they didnât make a decision soon, the monsters would close in and make it for them.
Leo frantically looked over to the Bobs Vs Tartarus showdown, hoping for a miracle, but what he saw made him sick to his stomach. Tartarus had obviously gotten the hang of his new gear, and the Bobs were beginning to wear down. Bobâs attacks were getting slower, and when Small Bob lunged at Tartarus, the primordial smacked him sideways so hard he shrank back into kitten form. Bob let out a bellowing war cry and charged, but Tartarus just laughed and kicked him down the hill, yanking his spear away as he fell.
YIELD!
âNever,â Bob spat, slowly forcing himself to a kneeling position. âI do not answer to the likes of you.â
Very well, I will give you the honor of dying in defeat, Tartarus spat. You Titans were never worth the dirt Gaea sacrificed to pull you from. The Giants, my children, were always the ones destined to reign supreme. I will give them one less obstacle.Â
To prove his point, Tartarus snapped the spear like a toothpick, and Bob wailed in agony and doubled over. Small Bob, still in kitten form but slowly growing, leapt onto his back and hissed, swiping at the primordial in defense of his friend, but Tartarus just laughed.
âLeo, heâs going to kill Bob,â Piper said, her voice thin and eyes wide. âIâve got toââ
âYouâve got to stay right here,â Leo snarled, yanking her back. âWhat good do you think youâre gonna do, huh? Thatâs Tartarus, Piper! Way, way out of our league!â
Piperâs eyes were bright with tears and determination both. âI canât just stand here and watch him die, Leo.â
Leo had an argument bubbling on the back of his tongue when the world suddenly clicked into place, and the equation spat out a new answer. Two going up was impossible and one was unacceptable. But there was another option. Leo sucked in a deep, shaking breath.
âYou and me,â he said softly. This was it. If he took his foot away from holding the Doors open, theyâd vanish. He and Piper would be stranded in Tartarus forever, and theyâd die. But at least theyâd be together.
Piperâs eyes widened as she examined his face before she nodded sharply, grief and understanding clear on her face. âMe and you.â
Leo was about to pull his foot away when his desperate prayer for a miracle earlier decided to finally answer itself. There was a ripple through the army, followed by a lot of panicked screaming. There was the loud, rhythmic boom, boom, boom of massive feet running across the ground, followed by a loud, terrifying cry that Leo would have never guessed heâd be happy to hear.
There was a massive blast of bright green acid, dissolving everything in its path, and through the destruction came the Maeonian Drakon, frilled collar spread like something from Jurassic Park and poisonous gas billowing from its wide open jaws. Sitting astride it like someone who had heard a fairytale about a prince riding in to save the day and a dragon, then got very confused, was a Giant with green skin and a massive beard woven with flowers.Â
âDamasen!â Piper cried.
The Giant smiled kindly at them, which was odd because he was fully decked out in red leather armor and wielding a massive Drakon bone lance, but Leo was willing to take any friendly face he could get at this point. âPiper McLean, I believe it is time for me to choose a new fate.â
Tartarus was a lot less happy to see his least favorite son. You, he hissed. Why now have you found your courage to show your face? Have you not disgraced yourself enough for eternity?
Damasen gave Leo and Piper a look that clearly said Get a load of this guy, before he yanked on the Drakonâs lead and whirled around in place. âWhy, father, I came because you called! You spoke of your brood in such kind terms that I had to answer. You want a challenge, yes? Perhaps you would like to see if your pride was misplaced.â
Pathetic Damasen, Tartarus spat venomously. You have been a failure, a blight on my honor since you were sired. A peaceful Giant believes he will overthrow his father. How quaint.
âI am peaceful,â Damasen agreed. âBut I have learned that peace is not merely the absence of strife, it is something that must be protected, with force if need be. Allow me to prove my point with your destruction.â
With that, Damasen let out a war cry with the Drakonâs cry echoing as a backtrack and charged. Even at a hundred feet long, the Drakon still managed to look middling compared to Tartarusâs sheer mass, but neither it nor Damasen seemed to care much. They charged forward, Damasen stabbing with his lance and his steed belching acid and poison alike, forcing the primordial to retreat, one begrudging step at a time.
Bob managed to stumble away from the fight, bleeding heavily and leaning on Saber-Toothed Bob for support, but he still managed to force a smile when he reached Leo and Piper at the Doors. âGo. I will hold the button.â
âBob, you canât!â Piper gasped. âLook at you, you canât possibly hold them off.â
Leo squeezed his eyes shut, unable to look at Bob, but he still managed to grit out, âget in the elevator, Piper. Weâre out of options.â
âNo, I wonât leave him,â Piper insisted, all but stamping her foot. âWe go together or not at all.â
Beyond the firewall Leo had erected, the monsters were drawing closer, and even beyond that, Damasen and Tartarus were clashing in a fight for the ages. Damasen managed to stab Tartarus and ripped out a chunk of his veiny purple flesh so the Drakon could spit venom directly into the wound, but even that seemed to do little more than enrage the primordial.Â
Bob followed his gaze and nodded grimly. âTwelve minutes. I will hold the button, then I will fight with Damasen.â
âYou canât!â Piper said again, one of Bobâs fingers clutched tightly in both her hands. âPlease donât. Heâll kill you, and thatâs it. There wonât be a regeneration from that.â
âPerhaps you are right.â Bob placed a hand on Piperâs head and smiled. âOr perhaps you are not. Monsters are eternal, and so are Titans. Perhaps if you remember me with kindness, I will return.â
Tears were streaming steadily down Piperâs face as she made another wounded noise. âHow can you gamble like that? ? You canât know whatâs gonna happen.â
âI donât know. What I do know, Friend Piper, is that you must go,â Bob said gently. âIt is your Fate. You are destined to go above, to put a stop to Gaeaâs plans, once and for all.â
âNo!â Piper looked even fiercer. âI choose a different Fate! One with you in it!â
âThis is the Fate I have chosen for myself. I would gladly give my life to save the world, but I would do anything to save a friend,â Bob replied. He met Leoâs gaze and Leo realized with a sickening feeling that there would be no way to convince Piper to step foot through those Doors. He gave a tiny nod, and Bob smiled. âTell the sun and stars I said hello.â
With one smooth movement, Leo withdrew his foot holding the Doors open, hooked his arms under Piperâs and flung her inside before following her. He paused only long enough to meet Bobâs gaze one last time. âWe wonât forget you, Friend Bob.â
Then the Doors ding!-ed shut and Piper let out a gut-wrenching howl of grief.
âBob! Damasen!â she wailed, clawing at the seam and frantically trying to pry the Doors back open. âLet me out! Theyâre going to die!â
Leo watched in complete and utter horror as the Doors started to slide open under Piperâs bloody fingernails. âOut of the way!â he barked, surging forward and violently shoving her aside. He made his hands go white-hot and sank his fingers into the now-soft metal so he could grip the Doors and shove them back together.
âOh god oh god oh god,â Piper babbled. She was curled up in the corner, rocking softly back and forth as she yanked out her hair. âI killed them. I killed them both. Itâs my fault, all my fault.â
âPiper, please; itâs not your fault,â Leo begged. âThey chose it. They chose to help us.â
âI Charmspeaked them, I know I did,â she muttered. âI didnât mean to, I didnât mean to. Pleasepleaseplease. Theyâre going to die.â
âI know, Piper. Fucking hell, I know,â he croaked, pressing his forehead to the metal hard enough to really feel it through his skull. His whole body ached. The Doors desperately wanted to open, and he was the only thing forcing them together. He could feel every muscle in his arms and across his neck and shoulders strain under the pressure, but they refused to tear. He was in agony, painful and sublime, but it was nothing compared to the way Piperâs broken sobs clawed at his heart.Â
âTheyâre gonna die,â she cried helplessly. âTheyâre going to die for us, and we just left them there.â
After what felt like years, Piper finally quieted down, not because sheâd calmed, but because sheâd wept herself into complete exhaustion, Leo glared death at the twisted black metal in front of him. This was Gaeaâs fault. Every awful thing that had happened to him since he was eight had been that miserable dirt ladyâs fault, and this was nothing more than another crime that sheâd pay for. And Leo would absolutely make her pay.Â
âI will kill you,â he growled for only the earth outside the Doors to hear. âWhatever it takes, I will end you once and for all.â
In response, the earth tried even harder to push its way in, but Leo refused to let it, he refused to bow. He had to hold this for twelve minutes while he prayed to whoever would listen that Bob managed to hold that cursed UP button long enough. It would work, it had to. A Giant and a Titan had fought side by side and sacrificed their lives to ensure the escape of two mortal demigods so they could save the world.Â
Itâs kind of funny because statistically, there is a 100% escape rate of demigods from Tartarus. If you count gods and titans, thereâs either a 90% or a 92% escape rate (depending on whether you subscribe to all six of Kronosâs kids freed the cyclops and hundred hand ones or just the three gods). This is all based on people who willingly went there and attempted an escape (or who lived there and attempted to escape in Damasenâs case). So this doesnât even take into account that monsters die, return to Tartarus, and escape all the time.
So we have: Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Demeter, Hestia, Nico (2x), Percy, Annabeth, Bob/Iapetus, Damasen, Apollo (sort of) and Will who have all been. That is 14 instances and the only one who didnât make it out is Damasen who we could probably lop in with the regular Tartarus denizens who didnât willingly go there. In that case, it becomes a 100% escape rate all around.
Just breaking down the demigods that went and made it:
Percy Jackson - extremely powerful godly powers, very good swordsman
Annabeth Chase - does not have offensive godly powers, but sheâs an accomplished strategist and talented with weapons
Nico di Angelo - extremely powerful godly powers, very good swordsman, was not in a great headspace the first time, had a buddy the second time so that was a lot better for him
Will Solace - very powerful healer and also has plague powers, brought zero weapons
They all have various different skill sets and I think are a decent sample of the different types of demigods Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter might have to offer.
So statistically, a demigodâs odds are pretty good if they want to pop down there for a quick visit and then get out. That exotic tour destinations thing might work out. Nyx might need to start advertising.

I've seen some fair share of fanart where Percy is covered with Tattoos.
If Sally allowed it these are the tattoos I think Percy would get
Fire or hammer or a mix. Something of that sort for Charles Beckendorf. The hero who was never supposed to die
Stars, a constellation one of Zoe Nightshades. For failing her when he was the first guy she trusted in millennials.
A toy that Bianca had picked up with a skull, maybe some black or with the words "I promised". For the girl who never got to know her heritage and the boy who lost himself with his sister.
Flowers, or maybe a mirror covered in some. For Selina Beauregard, the girl who died a hero.
A bow and arrow or maybe a falling bridge, for Micheal Yew who fell as the Percy destroyed the bridge.
And then maybe something that symbolizes rebellion against the Gods. Something for himself and the sympathy for the ones who went against the Gods when they were abandoned and hurt.
The sky, for Bob, small Bob and Damasen who will one day see it again.
Lightening, one with the symbol of both camp half-blood and SPQR, for the friend who belonged to both. Someone for whom Percy would be proud to wear the symbol of Lightening.
Blue eyes met worried dark ones. Instantly, he heard Nico's voice, but he couldn't make out what he said. Will tried to pinpoint where all of the pain was coming from, but everything just felt wrong. It took much of his willpower to focus on his surroundings, well those outside of the beautiful dark-haired boy we had woken up to.
The first thing he noticed was that he wasn't in the infirmary. While it made the instinct to not look for his older brother whom he knew wouldn't be there easy to ignore, it also made him feel uneasy. Where were they? How had they gotten here?
"-olace. Will!" Nico's accented voice cut through his thoughts. A cold hand holding tightly to his overheating one.
"You sound like an angel." Will wasn't sure why his mouth didn't get the memo that admiring Nico in dire situations normally stays in his thoughts, but before he could try to form any coherent way of "taking it back" Nico's cheeks tinted pink, and suddenly it was well worth it.
"Don't think compliments and flattery are going to save your ass." The pale boy scowled, though it was hardly as affective as it should have been. "Honestly, what the Hades were you thinking?"
Will tried to filter through his brain for any recollection of what Nico could be referring to, but it seemed his brain still hadn't caught up with the present. He was happy to be able to lift his hand to brush against Nico's cheek with confused eyes. "I don't understand. Where are we? What happened?"
Nico seemed to tense up and let out a quiet sigh. "We're still in Tartarus, Will. Right now, we are in the hut that belongs to Damasen. Small Bob brought us here." Will nodded and bit the inside of his cheek.
âIs he- is he around?â Will couldn't help but wince at how weak and pathetic his voice sounded. He was sure Nico noticed, but his boyfriend didn't say a word about it. âDamasen went out to find something that may help you. I fed you some ambrosia earlier..Will, I'm sorry. Shit, if I paid more atten-â
The blonde leaned up (much to the protest of his body) and grabbed Nico by the boy's aviator jacket and pulled him in for a kiss. It was short and sweet, but exactly what they both needed. âIt's alright, Nico. I'd do anything for you.â Even if he couldn't exactly remember what happened, he could piece things together. After all, he wasn't stupid. Waking up in the hut of someone who was said to help with healing, Nico's worried eyes, ambrosia, Lee, all of it fell into place. Will had taken a near-fatal blow for NicoâŚand he would do it again in a heartbeat.
âIf anything, I should be the one apologizing to you. I know how much you've lost people and I-â
âWilliam Andrew Solace, if you apologize for saving my life so help me.â Nico was looking at the ground, shaking his head. His voice was filled with fond exasperation. âWhat am I going to do with you?â
âYou could take care of me? Nurse me back to health?â Will could feel his cheeks heating up. Before this trip, it was something he would have never mentioned. Will Solace was not someone who got taken care of. Will Solace took care of others. Will Solace smiled through the pain. Will Solace didn't allow himself to break down or cry. Will Solace had to be a ray of sunshine in everyone's life. Will Solace had no darkness inside of himâŚ
Or did he? Ever since his meeting with the goddess Persephone, Will couldn't help but think of all the times he so desperately wanted to cry for his big brothers. The hatred he felt towards Percy for months after the Battle of Manhattan, despite knowing it wasn't his fault. (He only didn't let Will look for Michael, but it's fine. Will has accepted it.) All of the times he felt like breaking under the pressure of being the perfect older brother and head counselor.
The truth was that Will Solace did have darkness inside of him - it was just hidden by the overwhelming light. Trust is a two-way road, and if he wants Nico to give him trust, he needs to show that he trusts Nico in return. Will wants to show Nico his darkness. He wants to allow himself to be cared for once again. It's a revelation that shocks him more than probably anything else so far on this trip, though it's not over yet. They still have to find Bob the Titan.
âYeah, I'll take care of you.â Nico's voice is so soft that Will almost misses it, but he doesn't miss the comforting squeeze the cold hand in his warm one brings.
âNico, can I tell you about my older brothers?â
âGo ahead, Will. We have a little time to rest.â Those soft brown eyes looked at him with such understanding and love that Will felt things were gonna be alright for the first time in a while.
âTylon or Tylus [of Lydia] was a son of Earth. One day as he was walking on the banks of the Hermus a serpent stung and killed him. His distressed sister Moire had recourse to a giant named Damasen, who attacked and slew the serpent. But the serpent's mate culled a herb, âthe flower of Zeus,â in the woods, and bringing it in her mouth put it to the lips of the dead serpent, which immediately revived. In her turn Moire took the hint and restored her brother Tylon to life by touching him with the same plant. A similar incident occurs in many folk-tales. Serpents are often credited with a knowledge of life-giving plants.â**

**Frazerâs Footnote: âThus Glaucus, son of Minos, was restored to life by the seer Polyidus, who learned the trick from a serpent. See Apollodorus, Bibliotheca, iii. 3. I. For references to other tales of the same sort see my note on Pausanias, ii. 10. 3 (vol. iii. pp. 65 sq.). The serpent's acquaintance with the tree of life in the garden of Eden perhaps belongs to the same cycle of storiesâ (p. 186).
