You know, Tzmiscies are obviously a great playground for trans kindred, but may I present to you the caitiff as well?
We all know yadda yadda gender is a performance. So, when you get a caitiff masquerading as a specific clan, you get the obvious through line of clan as a performance. (Doesn't map perfectly onto every clan, but the majority of clans have roundabout ways to feign a bane & compulsion)
And THAT immediately cracks open in vampire society that the lines between clans don't actually matter that much.

Everyone has those throwaway names that they use. You know. When a character needs a name, but they're going to be there for maybe 3 pages max, so no thoughtfulness is required.
For example, I can't think of a single story I've written where a one-time/minor femme character isn't named Heather.
What are your throwaway names, and how often do you use them?
recently came to the realisation i view myself as ephemeral in the lives of others, passing through like water. which is both very freeing, but also challenging to come to terms with on the days when i want to sit in the corner of someone's space a while just to feel like i belong somewhere. viewing everything as temporary is starting to hold back the quality of existence in general (not that i planned for much beyond the age of 19 which was when my best friend took his own life). but it's like when you take your foot out of permanence, it's difficult to push it back in idk.
