SEOLA sat there in the middle of the room, on the floor, and in the dark. her eyes wandered around the stiff black room; a room she could barely see. it was her home, but there was something that was missing from the frame. she had been having a rough week – a busy one – and all she wanted to do was sit in the dark, in the silence, all alone and by herself. she needed to collect herself desperately. throughout all the children crying at the doctor’s office, the stacks of paperwork she could barely see over, and the relationship she was trying so hard to keep, she was tired. she wanted to lay there and cry. she wanted to lay there and think about the 'what would’ve been'. she wanted to lay there and fall asleep; to wake up in the middle of the room on the cold wood floor and feel suddenly different. she wanted to wake up, have her whole life in front of her, with him by her side.
