(2/4) “Weirdly enough, I’ve never wanted to quit painting. After I got into the process of painting, something clicked inside and now it feels only natural to keep moving. Though in my case, it's more like running in place because I’m stuck in my comfort zone. Sure, there were a lot of frustrating moments — especially when I just started out learning painting in art academy and was at the lowest skill level among other art students — but somehow that frustration only made me work harder.
But, aside from quitting completely, there is also the great danger of laziness. A few years back, I hardly did any personal work, usually being satisfied only by my job and maybe an occasional personal piece once a week at best. I was getting sick of trying to do something daily, and usually failing miserably, until I started the series of dailybot sketches. I don't know why, but I managed to keep doing them daily, over and over again, and now I'm already sitting on eight hundred of them. After around the first hundred, they become a habit I couldn't literally sleep without. So, I'd say that a habit is the most powerful driving force you can wish for.”
